Location, location, location! The condo is on the first floor with a little yard directly in front. The boardwalk to the beach was just right of the room along with the pool. Our condo included an umbrella and chairs that were set up on the beach probably 20 yards from our room. Easy walk to pool and beach with kids. Even with the dune in front of us you could see the ocean- not really the beach. Did not think that matter at all because we were always on beach or pool.
The condo did have a washer and dryer which is a big plus on vacation. The master bedroom was very nice with a large vanity, closet and bathroom. The other room with a king bed was also good size. The room with the twin beds did not have closets, but had two large drawers the bed and small dresser. Plenty of room for clothes and toys.
I thought Water's Edge as a condo complex was very well taken care. It was clean and saw many workers touching up paint and doing other routine items. Thanks! -

This is my 2nd year staying at the Waters Edge but first year in 116. I will be requesting this condo next year! The location was great! Right next to the boardwalk, so getting the beach and the pool with 4 kids was as easy at it could be!! All of the rooms have been upgraded with flat screen TVs. New Carpet in all of the bedrooms and nice tile in all the other rooms.
I could not have been happier!! Already looking forward to next year!! -

We loved our unit. It was very close to the beach and swimming pools. The employees were very friendly and helpful, especially Nathan the beach manager and Otis the maintenance guy. The Waters Edge is close to convenience stores, liquor stores, Publix and good restaurants. We couldn't have asked for more. We will definitely go back.

Our family has been coming to ft Walton or destin for 40 years. This condo's location was perfect & ground floor was so convenient. Only complaints...
#1- On arrival condo was overridden by mosquitoes (toilets even had mosquitoes hatching) spent entire week killing 20 mosquitoes a day on average
#2- Condo not as clean as it could be
#3- Supplies were not available (no toilet paper)

Waters Edge is a mid-size building w/a very large pool area, covered parking garage, & all units are ocean front. The property was very clean & well maintained. The unit itself was in the best location for us. We had 2 boys (11, 6) so I wanted to be on the ground floor, with some outdoor space for them to play. We had a large, grassy area directly off our patio. The boardwalk to the beach & the pool itself were just steps to our right. We could sit on the patio & see our oldest in the pool. The large pool was 3 1/2 ft - 5 ft deep & smaller one was 3ft. The unit was plenty big enough for 7 of us (5 adults & 2 kids). The kids had a small bunk room w/a new flat screen (yes we brought our Xbox to hook up, lol). All of the bedrooms & the living room had new flat screens mounted on the wall, with dvd players as well. The hall bath was good sized & opened from the hall & second bedroom. The master bedroom was very large. It opened directly to the patio as well & because of the angle, also had a view to the pool area & beach. The master bath was huge, with tons of storage cabinets. There was a large sink/vanity area & walk-in closet leading from the bedroom, then a separate sink area, large jetted tub, & large shower in the actual bathroom. The king bed in the master, the kitchen table & chairs, & the couches are new(er) than the photos. We had plenty of cookware (it looks like some things were added after a previous suggestion). The unit needed a little TLC. The ceilings in the bedrooms were covered in dust, the ceiling fans were dirty, and there were some repairs to walls & baseboards needed, as well as a much needed paint job. There were only a couple of hooks on the backs of the bathroom doors. The carpet in the master & bunk room looked to be new though. These "downsides" would not keep me from coming back to this unit, however, I hope they will be addressed.

Since our condo was very close to the pool which was very nice, you need to put some sort of spring on the pool gate as it slames shut and rattles the entire white fence that is around the entire pool, very loud and is annoying. No where in the manual is it said that you need to supply your own toliet paper, please put that in the manual. No where is it said that you need to have your own trash bags when you run out of what is supplied in the waste baskets. Please make a note in the manual about that. That way when you are planning your grocery list, you can make note of that or just bring it with you if you are driving to your vacation. Your establishment is very nice and clean. Regarding your internet, we had 5 people staying in our room and only about 2 or 3 of us could get connected to the internet at a time. Don't know if it was something we were doing or if your internet is not that strong to support up to 5 people on the internet at one time. Loved our room location, it was convenient to the parking, trash, pool and beach and did not have to deal with steps or elevators!! That is a big plus :)!! Personally, for the price that we paid, I felt it was a bit pricy, basically we had a condo, which was nice, but we had to insure that the towels were laundred for us to re-use. Which having a washer/dryer was great! You need to supply a scratcher pad for each stay for cleaning up pots/pans. Just put on in from Saturday to Saturday. Would have been nice to have a strainer for draining pasta and a mixer for making potatos and brownies, etc. Thank you for your time in reading this information. Hope it was helpful. Sonia L.

Our vacation was wonderful! There is only one suggestion for #116 and that is to have more kitchen ware. Bowls with lids, cookie sheets, tea pitcher etc. We cook in alot! Other than that is is a great location to have kids right by the pool and the beach! We love WatersEdge, been staying there for 8 years now!

This unit is on the ground floor and right next to the pool, boardwalk and gazebo. You can sit on the loveseat and have a wonderful view of the ocean. It is a wonderful unit!

The location of Water's Edge #116 was the best location I've stayed in. It is in a great area, and on the ground floor with the private patio facing the pool and beach.
However, the condo needs some TLC and renovations. There were lots of blemishes and wear and tear on the walls, flooring, bath rooms, and furniture. Also, the heater for the pool was broken all week, so the pools were too cold to swim in.Response from Southern Vacation Rentals - 11/10/2009

This home was perfect for our family vacation! It is located on the bottom floor of the rental property, just steps away from the boardwalk taking you onto the beach. Beautiful beach with incredible sand! The service we received was outstanding as well. Would DEFINITELY stay here again!

This condo sits on the ground floor and opens on one end to the parking lot and on the other end right next to the pool and the walkway to the beach. It is clean and very roomy, with three bedrooms. We really like the Ft Walton Beach area and have stayed in this particular condo two times and will again next year.

My family stayed at Water's Edge for 8 days in July. We had a blast! Our room was right by the pool and the boardwalk so we didn't have to lug stuff very far. The condo was nice and large. The pools were huge and clean. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The parking was covered which was great on hot days. We have been taking family vacations for 10 plus years to the beach and by far this was the best place for the price that we have ever found. We will definitely be going back.

Nice property. We had a few issues such as unit was unlocked (all doors) when we arrived in middle of night, kitchen was not as clean as it should have been and front door locked had to be replaced while we visited. However, unit is perfect location for family since it's close to pool, beach and garage. I have always stayed in an upper floor condo but found the first floor perfect. Great pool area. Overall, condo needs some updating but it is a good unit and a worth the price.

This propoerty was perfect for my family at just the right time. My grandmother passed away on New Year's Eve, and having no "home base" to gather, eat, mourn, we turned to these condos on Okaloosa Island. The amenities (coffee filters) and intangibles (having a place to call "home" for a few days during a difficult time) were beyond our expectations. As you might imagine, the nature of our visit meant we did not have the presence of mind to plan the way one normally would. Turns out, we didn't need to. The owners had requested we sign the guest book, but hopefully this review will find its way to them, along with my sincere appreciation. -

I have previously stayed at WatersEdge.Our experience was a mixed bag. The room and the amenities of the room were excellent. However the gentleman who is allegedly their security is another story. He walks around staring at your stuff and is a snoop. He was downright annoying. We went to have agood time and our enjoyment was "watched" all seven days by this menace. Several other persons staying there stated they felt the same way. He's ahuge burly guy, smokes all the time, is crabby, etc. I appreciate persons keeping the mayhem away, but for people who want to relax on their front deck (which was on the bottom floor)it was misery.We tried to ignore this guy but he would keep coming close, getting into out line of site. I would not stay there again as long as he's there. We nicknamed him the pool nazi.If you don't mind having snoop around you will love the huge pool and the other staff were also great, but one bad apple........

We have stayed at the same Condo numerous times now. The Condo is clean and nicely decorated, it is roomy and the location is perfect; ground floor, near the pool, view of and short walk to the beautiful white sand beach. My family and Grandkids love it here. We have found some great restaurants in Ft. Walton that are not so crowded as Destin. Some friends and I have plans for a winter break at Water's Edge this January.
