We love the layout of the condo and that is why we keep coming back but it needs a lot of updating. There needs to be some chairs in the living room and bedrooms, and sofas that don't sink to the floor when you sit in them. I woke up with a backache every morning and when I got home the backaches disappeared.
We have six other friends who live in Water's Edge and their condos have been updated with new appliances, paint, etc.

From the minute we walked in we loved this place. It was very clean and we loved the views from the deck. The decor was so comforting, we felt like we were at home. The location was perfect. We were very close to everything. You could go right across the bridge to Destin to shop or go on a Dolphin/Sunset Cruise. We had a blast swimming in the oversized pool. What fun!!

We stayed here for the first time because we usually stay at Pelican Isle. We were very happy with the room and the large pool was great. Only issue was painting in the hall going on and it smelled like pain thinner for days. I am sure this place will be a contestant when we come back in the fall

This is my second stay at Waters Edge and with Southern Resorts. They have been extremely helpful in making the arrangements. We enjoy Waters Edge.

Loved it!! Beautiful view from the balcony. The pools were wonderful and clean. Access to the beach could not have been better. The room was very nice, too. The kitchen was clean and ready for us. The beds were comfortable. The TV in the masterbed room was not working properly when we arrived. We told an employee the next morning as we were headed down to the pool and when we came back up to the room a short time later, the service tech was already working on it. We had 2 issues: 1. there was sand on the tile floors from the previous occupants. There is no way it was swept before our arrival. 2. the echo b/c of the tile flooring throughout the unit. My in-laws are early risers and we were up with them every morning, whether we wanted to be or not, because of this echo.

We stayed at Waters Edge 305 and was very impressed! This is the third time we have stayed at Waters edge although the first time in 305. It had plenty of room and the large bathroom was great with 3 women in our group of 6 adults. It had everything we needed and then some. (We would suggest replacing the mattress on the fold out couch though-it was impossible to sleep on) Otherwise it was a great facility and a great experience.

I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a condo large enough to accomodate a group.
PROS:
- condo is large and roomy, clutter free
- kitchen is large enough to prepare a good meal
- ample space for lounging
- excellent view
- pool is great
CONS:
- unit rental (which boasts accomodations for 10 people) only comes with 2 chairs and one umbrella on the beach - each additional set costs $20 a day!
- the tub in the master bath is 3 times the volume of the hot water heater, so without planning and constant monitoring for about 2 hours, the tub cannot be filled with hot/warm water

We loved this condo. The easy access to the parking deck was great, as well as the beautiful view from the deck. The design of the deck was very safe. We had twin, 15 month old grand-daughters that played in and out on the deck the entire week. They loved it. The great weather you had that week (cooler) and the dolphins you had swim at our beach each day were thoroughly enjoyed. I would definitely do that for the next renters too. :) The condo was very roomy, comfortable and decorated well.
We only had two complaints. One was the floors were dirty. They hadn't been mopped in awhile or been swept either.(dust bunnies everywhere) There was not a mop available or we would have done it ourselves as we didn't enjoy the sticky floors. However we did use the vaccuum. If you are paying somebody to clean the floors , it might be time to give them a review. Second there was only enough hot water for 1, maybe 2 showers at a time, the second being pretty cool. There was never enough hot water to actually use the jacuzzi tub. A larger hot water heater is definitely needed.
HOWEVER, the floors weren't a huge deal. I just mentioned them because you might want to look into the cleaning help you are paying. And we just took very short showers.
We did enjoy our visit. It was WONDERFUL to not have to keep up w/a key due to the keyless entry. The beach was kept clean, as well as the pool area, and bbq grill area. We really had an enjoyable time. The kitchen was well stocked w/everything we needed for cooking.
If you are posting this review, please remove the complaints, they are just for your info. We loved the condo and will definitely look into renting the same location when we return next year. -

Houston, TXCondo was OK, but I expected better

For what we paid, for 7 nights, I would have expected nicer accomodations.
The first issue was the stackable washer/dryer. For a condo that sleeps 10, I would have expected a full size washer and dryer. We had to constantly keep the washer/dryer going, to accomodate all our laundry...And the dryer was noisy and did not dry very quickly.
Second issue was the kitchen. It was V-E-R-Y small. Two adults could hardly work in there at the same time. There was a light out (one of the two flourescent bulbs) also.
Also, our neighbors below us were smokers, and since "smoke rises", we had to smell their cigarette smoke just about every time we were out on our balcony.
All in all I just didn't feel that our unit was all that nice. It was just "OK". I wouldn't stay there again. The blender in our unit didn't work, and when we called Southern Resorts Management, they did get a new one to us within about 10-15 minutes, so that was very nice. -

this was scary renting this. we had no idea if it really looked like the pictures it showed if there was anything around the condo to do like it said. BUT it was all that and more. we are already looking to book this room again for 2010. we even want the same room. We had no problems, it was clean, no noise, the beach was awesome, and the beach Guys "JARED" was awesome. we had our chairs and umbrella ready when we got down to the beach. He also new the area where to go and things to do. thanks for a great time...... see you next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at Water's Edge #305 and had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room for us, the beach service and pool was great. A very clean and well-kept facility....will definitely recommend to others and more than likely be back next year!

we had a wonderful time and we loved our room! the weather wasn't great but we still had a good time. the only thing we would change are the beds need better mattresses. they were very unconfortable. but everything else was great and we would love to stay there again.

We had a great time at Water's Edge #305. It was a huge condo and we had plenty of room -- four kiddos and three adults. The beach was beautiful and we loved watching the dolphins in the morning as we had coffee on the balcony. There were lots of other families with children at the property and all the kids found plenty of friends to play with -- including the teenagers! -- giving the adults plenty of time off! We've been to Fort Walton Beach for vacations for the last 3 years but this is the first time at this property. We will be staying here again in the future. We highly recommend this unit and this property!!
