This was my husband's first time at the gulf coast! We had a great time and enjoyed our stay! The ONLY thing we didn't like with being on the first floor, we couldn't see the beach well and the ocean. The room was fabulous, with very bright Happy colors! I don't think we'll get that specific room though again because of the not being able to see. It was very easy to get to and was in a great location! We will definitely be back! There was one more thing but I'm not sure that Gulf Dunes could help it. But the beach part we were at had this 2 1/2 ft shelf that you had to climb down from to get to the flat part of the sand. It wasn't horrible, but you'd thing they could grate it down.??

The property was great overall. Perfect location, nicely appointed, and clean. The only complaint I have is that there were some kind of biting bugs in or on the orange sleeper sofa in the living room. Not sure what kind they were, fleas or bed bugs, but both my companion as well as myself were bitten more than once while sitting on it. I informed management, hopefully they have dealt with the problem.

i love this place. this is the second time we have stayed there. i must say the first time was from a individual owner and they did provide alot more like a blender, trash bags, laundry detergant. it does make a difference and next year i will stay in same location but definately use the other condo owner.

Overall, our stay was great. We had a wonderful time. The only improvement I would suggest is that the floors needed to be mopped.
The floors were quite dirty when we arrived. Looked like they had not been cleaned in a while. Other than that, the experience was great.
Will return. -

Our vacation experience was awesome. The Condo was perfect for our needs. It was comfortable and attractive. Our first time in Fort Walton Beach. We will definitely be back and we will stay at Gulf Dunes. The only thing we were missing was a cutting board, hint hint.

The unit has been nicely furnished but mgmt. isn't cleaning well enough. Floors were dirty, carpet had odor and needed cleaning, bathrooms weren't cleaned well. As there is no view the cleanliness is paramount. We own unit #412 and have had the same issues with Brooks & Shorey.

We were in town for my daughters wedding and this room was used for the bride and her court. The colors were perfect for the young women. Located on the beach with a good view of the ocean. We will return.

We had to switch to another building in the middle of our stay due to availability issues. The General Mgr himself came with his truck to load our things and move us since my husband was stuck at the airport with our vehicle. Very Helpful!! Only negative--pool is very small at Gulf Dunes

This was exactly what we were looking for in the gulf area. It was away from the hustle & bustle of commercialism, but right on the beach. We loved the sugar white beaches. The dining out is much more expensive here than in the South Padre Island area, where we were last winter. Our condo had a few issues upon check-in that the management/housekeeping staff should have caught before guests. The dishwasher didn't drain(a plug had been left in the plumbing from a disposal replacement who knows how long ago)& the thermostat for HVAC was not operational. We found dirty socks underneath the coffee table from previous guests...eewwwoo! The washer was full of kleenex-like lint. More attention to detail by housekeeping could've taken care of all of these problems. Also, we were never given a key for our mailbox because they stated "they didn't have one", and we never received one the whole 2 months stay, even though we asked in the office several times. But, once we got those other things taken care of we were very happy with the unit & the location. The front office could have been more friendly & accommodating. The gal (Eva)that we went through at Brooks & Shorey was very good & showed us properties that fit our desires. She tried to get us a bit of a discount for all the things that weren't operational when we checked in, but her arrogant boss wouldn't. Too bad, since that left a bad impression on us...we shouldn't have to have maintenance people in our place for 3 days right when we got there. I was extremely disappointed in how he blew us off...knowing we were fully moved in & and probably wouldn't want to move to a different unit...just wanted a bit of consideration for the lack of operational appliances and lack of cleaning by the housekeeping staff, which is ultimately part of his oversight with the management company. Eva was a sweetheart, her arrogant boss, not so much.
