Our visit to Ft Walton and stay at The Palms was very relaxing as we had hoped. The Palms is a great place to stay but be aware the buidling elvator is probably the worse we have ever experienced. Not only is it unbeliveably slow, it is not reliable. It was being repaired upon our arrival and did not work when we were ready to leave. We called the "after hours" phone number and fortunately someone came and got it working again. Views from the balcony are fantasic! Room 405 could use some paint and toilet refreshing,otherwise it met our needs fine.

My husband asked me what I wanted for my 50th b-day and I told him to go back to the gulf.. Only had been once 4 years ago.. He told me to book It!!!
The weather was great, the view from the 4th floor was fabulous, got to see dolphins. We had breakfast on balcony every morning. Went to the local seafood market to purchase local fish and shrimp to was great!!
Definitely will be back!!!!!! -

For our 40th wedding anniversary we stayed at The Palms unit 405 and we had a wonderful and relaxing vacation. We have rented this condo several times and always enjoy our stay there. The couple that we rent from are so personable and easy to work with. We also like the Brooks & Shorey staff. This is a great condo. It is clean, fresh, and continually updated and well cared for. There is plenty of room, the decor is so cute and fun. It is right on the beach and we enjoy the large balcony. Also appreciate the fact that chairs and an umbrella are included in the rental price. One of our favorite things to do there is have breakfast on the balcony and watch for dolphins! The kitchen is well stocked and has everything that is needed to prepare a meal. We enjoy this condo, and have recommended it to family and friends.

We had a wonderful vacation. The location was very convenient to all our planned activities. The view was great and the access to the beach was perfect. Even the young men that did the umbrellas and chairs were so polite and helpful. This was a great vacation and we are already thinking about when we can go back.

Great place to take the family. Everyone associated with Brooks and Shorey and The Palms was friendly and helpful. Unit 405 is clean, comfortable and well stocked. The beach access is just a dune walk-over away. When it was too warm we enjoyed the beach from the balcony or sitting in the complimentary chairs under the umbrella. The location is great - you're close to Ft. Walton and Destin attractions, but away from the crowds.

Our vacation was over just 3 weeks ago and the kids are already asking when can we go back! :) The condo was perfect for our family. LOVED having the beach right there, pool was clean, it's far enough away from the large crowds but an easy drive to any restuarant or entertainment you could think of. We plan to return in the future.

The condo was decorated very nice. And everything was fairly new. I think the cleaning service could do a better job. The throw rugs were very dirty and there is a lot of build up in the patio doors. We had a problem with a toilet when we arrived at 4:30pm and they couldn't come fix it until the next morning. I also had to call them again because they didn't show up. I had them fix a light and add new batteries to the remote control. I know these are miner things, but I would want my condo to be well taken care of. We had a great time there and would go back.

I have stayed here before, but felt this time the throw rugs in bathroom and kitchen needs to be replaced and were not clean, the bedroom that has the two beds needs room darking window treatment to block out the lights on the building.There were tiny ants in the kitchen sink area.

We have been coming for a girl's weekend now for about 7 years. We stay in the same Condo, The Palms every year. Its clean and wonderful view of the beach. Would also like to say, the people that are over the rental chairs have been the nicest that I have ever encountered. One of the girls is on a cane and they always are great to accommodate all of our needs. Brooks and Shorey are always great about letting us check out late, if no one is checking in.. Thank you!!!

The first thing that hit me was that the AC was obviously not working.
The first night was muggy.
The AC was repaired the next day.
The unit was poorly maintained. Numerous water stains on the ceiling and missing texture were just a couple of the issues that should have been corrected before renting to anyone. -

Overall, it was a very satisfying experience. Lcoation is great for beach and access to restaurants and other services. And the beach is wonderful.
Furnishings were generally clean and fairly new. Liked the colors. Only one cockroach. Parking spaces are tight but understandably so. Did not use the pool as it is very small and poorly placed, but we didn't come for the pool.
It was a great first time experience and we will come back again. -

The condo was clean and nicely equipped. We did think the notes on pillows were somewhat unecessary but guess there is more theft in a condo than others would know. While the condo was clean, the pool never seemed clean and the restrooms by the pool were
also questionable. The elevator was so slow! We were very happy only a few people were staying in the complex. This would probably prevent us from staying at the unit during prime months. Overall we met nice folks and enjoyed the stay. -

My sisters and I booked three condos at The Palms for our annual vacation. It was our first time at The Palms. We arrived to find the air conditioner not working and the bathtub leaking badly in one, no working Internet in two condos, and one condo roach infested. The 2-bedroom units had a cramped layout, with an unappealing second bedroom with the fluorescent light from the hallway shining in its window (we had to put up a blanket to eliminate the glow). Staff were great and immediately helpful, but we were very disappointed with the general level of maintenance, especially given the rather draconian approach to cleaning deposits and the very late check-in time because of their “extremely high cleaning standards”. They need a "feedback and problems" form in each room that you can fill out at the end of your stay; that way, hopefully, many of these problems would be fixed before the next occupants arrived. The 4pm check-in/10am check-out is also outrageous, especially for condos where you’re going to live in the room quite a lot, unlike a hotel where often all you need is a place to go to bed at night. With those sorts of check-in times, it’s a rip-off to charge more than half to two-thirds the price for the first night. We ended up being able to check in early and check out late after talking to the staff and being fortunate our room wasn’t needed, but it’s a poor policy. I’m sorry our room experience wasn’t better, because the location is terrific and the staff helpful. I think the problems really lie higher up the food chain. Things like the check-in times, cleaning deposit policy and the original incredible lack of flexibility and lack of updated information about the impact of the Gulf oil gusher indicate unwieldy and remote management attitudes rather than any staff deficiency.

We stayed 5 nights and would recommend this corner room to anyone who wants a wonderful view of the beach. The only complaint I have was that it needed to be cleaned a little better.(Dirt and "stuff" under the couch and entertainment center and bath and kitchen could use a good bleaching.)We appreciated the 2 chairs and umbrella that came with the rental VERY much!

We stayed in the Palms #405 and absolutely loved it. The property was clean, updated, spacious and the view was fabulous! In fact, we have scheduled another vacation in the same condo, same room for May, 2008 hoping to make this an annual event. The condo is small and private. Easy parking and access to local attractions. Highly suggestion this particular condo and room.
