El Matador is an all-inclusive resort at the end of Okaloosa Island. The property offers you 2 pools, tennis courts, indoor whirlpool and sauna, shuffleboard, library, and exercise room. You can feel safe at this property with 24-hour security on sight. EM323 is an upgraded gorgeous 3rd building, 2nd floor 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom with a beautiful view of the water. My Rental experience started off great! with the Dale Peterson staff being very professional & helpful. Check in was very easy ,without having to pick up a key you could arrive at any hour. For my needs the #323 unit to perfect. Very comfortable for 4 people. you just can't beat the location. It's very private being at the end of the island. Pool was very clean, liked a guard being on duty 24hrs, the view from the condo let's you see the beautiful sunset,kitchen was stock well. I have stayed 3 times & will be back.

This unit is one of the very best located in the El Matador Condominium developement, it is located on the 2nd floor which is nice if you don't mind walking up steps. Elevators or available also but sometimes they are slow. The view of the gulf and evening sunsets are the very best. One thing we miss is the washer and dryer, which is not in the unit but conveniently located a few steps from the unit.

This unit is very beautiful and nicely updated. The kitchen has granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. It has a great walk in closet you don't usually see in a condo rental. The complex is on the quitet end of the island allowing you to hear the gulf from the bedroom at night and in the morning. The complex is well taken care of even though it's an older development. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

It has been 10 long years without a vacation, due to my husband having cancer, and then heart surgery right after. That took all of our saving just to survive it all. So it was the most enjoyable time that we have had...since we can remember. It was nice having a view of the ocean while lying in our King size bed every morning. To be able to have everything on site an not have to go out every other day to get things done. The ten minute drive to Destin was so nice and easy. Resturants where great but a little pricie for my husband but that didn't stop us from having a great time. Our daughter and her friend had a great time also, they got to make use of the night life there. Hope to do this again, next year. We will be back at the El Matador #323 again, when we can. Thanks again, Dale for your hospitality and to your very helpful staff.
P.S. This is just a suggestion, put ceiling fans (living room and bedrooms), this could cut down on a/c bill.

We have been going there since 2005. It is awesome!! The view, the pool on the side of the ocean, and the beach is always a welcome sight and so beauitful!! We consider it our second home because we have returned to El matador so many times.

This unit has an excellent view. We like the location very much. It has many updates. The kitchen has always been well stocked and organized with all that is required for preparing meals. The El Matador is located at the end of Okaloosa Island which makes it very quiet and less traffic. The unit was always very comfortable for us. We liked the golf opportunities, shopping and walking on the Beach.

We stayed in tower 3 and loved the view from the balcony. Saw dolphins playing from balcony in the mornings and saw a sea turtle one afternoon on a walk down the beach. Very comfortable room, well stocked kitchen, pool was nice. Beach is beautiful, especially the miles of empty beach next to condo. Wish there were more grills on site and a beach walk over on the building 3 side. Also wish room had wi-fi. Otherwise it was wonderful and we will definately come back!

I booked this place cause it was what I thought reasonable. Was I wrong! The money you pay to stay in dirtiness, then have to pay more money to keep it clean and clean it up yourself. Our Family likes to go to the beach every year. We try to go to different ones. Dale E. Pettersons is not the best place to deal with. The original girl who helped me book the place and took care of me over the past 2 months either got fired or quit 2 weeks before my arrival. So I never got an e-mail saying I made the last payment, here is what to do upon your arrival, etc. So when I get to the place they have a security guard that checks your car in and they tell you where to go. They had nothing in my name. I had to call 3 different people to get clearance because after talking to the 3rd person I should have got an email with my right numbers and the code for the door. After finally getting into our room my package was there with the room code. Parking permit, how to check in. So that did not make sense to me why they put it there and not hand it to the Security guard. After we got in the place it was beat up. Chips in the paint, Beds are falling apart. Door stoppers are hanging by a hair, Closet doors of hinges, etc. We took pictures so we would not be charged. The Oven was dirty. The sheets were stained. Baseboards are full of dirt and dust. They say they leave the first night paper products for your use, wrong!!! We had to by trash bags, and paper towels. They only left toilet paper. We also had to by dish soap, almost bought cleaning supply cause it was dirty and we were going to make it a little dirty cooking but we just used soap and water. They should provide a little to help the germ factor! Overall it was in a great location and the atmosphere is fantastic. We will never stay in this place again, We looked into some better ones while we was there!! Hope this helps if you decide to stay here!!

View is wonderful overlooks the grounds, pool and beach. Comfortable unit, kitchen was well stocked with all necessary utensials. Unit is on the 2nd floor which makes it easy to walk up if you so desire, although there is a elevator. Convenient parking.

After a long drive, our code did not work---we thought we were too early--waited an hour and tried again. No luck. After a quick call code was corrected. Having our adult daughter fly down was great--but not having to play musical bathroom. Also, her bedroom got early morning sun(couldn'block) and was noisey in that bedroom. If we were one floor higher our view would have been great.
Know what to ask next time. -

We enjoyed staying at El Matador. We were close to the beach and the room had everything we needed to keep 6 people (5 boys!) well rested, well fed, and happy. We were close to the beach and loved the pool area as well. We will most certainly consider a future stay at your facility.

We were pleased with our stay. The condo was very beautiful with a great view. The pool was also great and we had a very easy beach access. I also like that there was a security guard that everyone had to go through to get to the condos. Made me feel a little bit safer. The kids had a blast!

This was our first trip with our 10 month old. The condo was well furnished and we had a great week! The view was better than the pictures portrayed and the kitchen had just about anything you could need (except for a can opener). Luckily the neighbors next door were very friendly and let us borrow one. We had only 2 complaints. The first is that the closet on the balcony was locked. I read on previous reviews that the closet was stocked with beach chairs, umbrella, and beach toys that we could use. We ended up having to buy a chair and umbrella. Secondly, the carpet in the bedrooms was dirty and when I tried to vacuum it using a vacuum I found in the closet, the vacuum didn't work. With a baby crawling around it was a bit gross. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend staying here. The building was in good shape for it's age and the condo was beautifully remodled. The beach and pool were beautiful and not too crowded.

My husband & I chose this location to spend our honeymoon. We were married in Orange Beach, AL. & traveled the short distance to Okaloosa. We arrived to our condo around the midnight hour & due to it being so dark it was hard for us to really tell what the area looked like, but when we woke up the next morning & walked out onto the balcony,, boy were we transported into a different part of the world it seemed. That view was literally breathtaking! The room was so nice & clean. Just the view itself is so worth it! Our honeymoon was like a dream & we were in pure paradise! We had the best time of our married lives... so far ;]

The Condominium decor is beautiful with a great view of the beach and pool! Would love to stay here again except for the following:
The one thing we did not like was the upstairs "neighbors" were very noisy walking hard on the floor and opening the sliding glass door frequently to smoke on the balcony. One morning at 3:00AM we were awaken by the noise! We did not call to complain because we were not in the condo for most of the days. The check out office was closed when we dropped off the key. Check out time is 10:00AM and we were early.
In the future we will ask for a top floor or inquire about "soundproof". -

My husband and I and our 4 children ages 15, 12, 5, and 4 stayed a week and had a great time. Our air went out on Thursday night and I called the next moring and within 2 hours there was a person there to fix it. I loved that they were on top of things. The room was great and the kids had fun at the pools. I have to say that out of the past 6 times that we have been to Florida this was probably the best stay we have had. Thanks so much Dale E. Beautiful room with a great view. Very quiet and family oriented. The only complaint was it was not made clear that the beach service wasn't included with our room. All of our past vacations with Dale Peterson had the beach service included. Other than that - great place to stay.

Beautiful, clean, and the kitchen was stocked with anything and everything we
could think of.....lets make spaghetti....yep there's a strainer. Let's grill steaks,
yes there's the grill pan, ice cream scoop--there it is. My kids loved finding
the closet on the balcony with the beach toys and my husband and I loved
finding the beach chairs! Plus the washer/dryer were conveniently located
and I felt safe with my kids as they'd run ahead of us to the pool or beach and
I didn't worry some pervert was going to get them. Highly recommend this
condo! WE loved it!
Plus it was conveniently located to Destin and that's where we did wave
runners, sunset cruise, snorkeling trip.
My only negative thing at all was some of the linens were starting to show a
little wear--ie blanket had some rust stains and a sheet with a stain, but it
was clean, just worn. -

We had the best time in your condos. The El Matador Condominium 323 was exceptional. The view was awesome. The condo upgrade was really nice and modern. I liked that we did not have to walk far to either the beach or the pool. The facilities were kept clean and well maintained. The weather was awesome. We had maybe 15 minutes of rain one evening. I liked the beach chairs and umbrella that were placed each day on the beach for our use. My children had a great time as well. I liked how safe and secure the place was. I have and will continue to tell others about this place. I only regret that the particular condo we stayed in did not have high speed internet. This would have been another luxury. All in all this was the best beach trip our family has had in years.

I would recommend staying at this location. It is farther down on the island but is worth the drive!!! It is never crowded at the pool and it has a great view of the ocean. It is always clean and everyone we have ever met and talked to at this location has been extremely nice. Dale Peterson Rentals has been very nice to deal with as well. We will be returning again and again.

Our stay at this condo was wonderful. Unit 323 was even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. Our children were 3 and 5 at the time of our stay and had a blast! The view from the room of the ocean is breathtaking and we were surrounded by cozy decor and a real "home" feel in the unit.
We would happily recommend this facility and this particular unit to any family looking for a clean and relaxing atmosphere for their vacation. We will most likely return ourselves in the future! -

This gulf-front condo is just as beautiful as the pictures. The view is fabulous and the balcony was large enough for all 4 of us to enjoy together. The decor was current and tasteful. The kitchen was well-equipped and convenient.
The beach was absolutely pristine. The fact that it is adjacent to a national seashore preserve is a huge plus. Heading west we could take walks on the beach for as far as we wanted to go, and saw lots of bird life. We want to come back!
It was our first visit and there was confusion because I did not understand that the key was not available onsite, so a suggestion would be to have clearer instructions for new renters on how to pick up the key from the realtor.
