We stayed with another family and had 4 adults and 5 kids and still had plenty of room! No complaints at all.

My stay at the Mermaid was wonderful. The view from the living room and master bedroom are the best. I loved being able to leave the doors open and listen to the water.
I had an issue with the refrigerator but it was taken care of promptly. The serviceman even returned on a Saturday evening to make sure it was working properly.
I was able to relax with my friends on the deck. I like that it wasn't a high rise with elevators and lots of people. The location was very peaceful. -

We stayed at the Mermaid Beach House in Fort Walton Beach in early august. The check-in and check-out process were excellent, no issues and everything went according to plans. The property is on a excellent location, great view and very easy to get in and out. Great beach location. We had 6 adults and one child in the house and was very comfortable for everyone.
Issues: Door locks did not work properly, none of the locks on the back of the house worked with a key, so you had to go to the front everytime you went to the beach, which was very inconvenient. The middle deck is in poor condition, to the point that we did not allow our 3 year-old grandchild be by herself on the deck because many of the planks were loose and she could fall through. A definite safety issue. The ceilings throughout the house had several places were there were evidence of water damage and were blistering. The cleaning was poor. Based on the conditions stated and the issues encountered, we thought the price charged for this period of time was a little high.Response from Harmony Beach Vacations - 09/04/2012

When you walk into the beach house, you walk into a spacious living room and great view of the beach through the doors leading to the deck. You can feel the breeze from the ocean while sitting on the decks, as if you were lying right on the beach.
The service provided by Harmony was great. Very willing to accomodate and work to get you where you want to stay. All this with a great price.
Don't want to say too many good things because I don't want it to be booked up and I can rent it again, soon. -

I had a great time at the beach house , the staff at Harmony Beach were excellent , polite, military friendly and just over all a pleasure to work with . The beach house was very comfortable and had everything I could need for my stay .

We can't say enough good things about the Mermaid House. We checked in on august 13, 2011. Check in was quick and straight forward. We were given two sets of keys which was great since my parents vacationed with us and we had different schedules for the week.
The house was spotless and we were even given a couple packs of coffee, creamers, and sugar! (bonus!!) All of the rooms are huge and comfortable and 3 full bathrooms was a dream with 6 people in the house.
Location, location, location!!! It really doesn't get any better then this. Waking up in the morning and walking right out to the beach for a morning run was priceless. Not to mention sitting one of the three decks to drink my morning coffee. It was truly a week we will never forget and we will absolutely be staying again. -

We are so glad to have stayed in the Mermaid Beach House. We were traveling as a group of 8, 6 adults and a 10 and 15 yr old. The house was perfect. Everyone had their own space and 3 1/2 bathrooms was great!
The house was well kept and right on the white sand beach. It was a very very nice vacation. It is located near a lot of activities and grocery stores.
The full size washer and dryer in the house was the best!! We came home with a suitcase full of clean clothes. No better way to end a vacation than that.
This was the second Harmony Beach property we have stayed at in the last 2 years and both were wonderful. I would recommend them to anyone! -

As retired folks who do not like a lot of hoopla, we loved Mermaid's location on slow-paced Okaloosa Island. (Keep in mind it was March...)Amenities are close by in Fort Walton and Destin. Service from property managers was excellent; very friendly and quick to respond to any concerns. Mermaid Beach House suited us to a T. The beach-themed decor set the mood for enjoyment of sun and sand. Location, comfort and spaciousness were what we liked best; disappointed in quality and quantity of outdoor furniture, and there are a few maintenance tasks needing urgent attention. (We left a list with the managers.) Anyone thinking of renting here should be aware there are 13-14 steps between each of the 3 levels, making it a bit inconvenient for young children or older folks. Overall we were pleased with our month there, and will likely return.

We did okay, but if we had had 6 people, towels would have been a shortage.
Drinking Glasses did present a shortage.
Maintance could stand improvement
a. Washer & dryer need replaced, dryer wouldn't shut off, and washer kept moving all over the place.
b. Vent above electric range would not work.
c. Upstairs master bedroom bath fan loud & noisy
d. Refrigerator needs new door gasket
e. Heatpump needs replaced
f. Tub in spare bdr upstairs drains poorly.
Decor was beautiful! -

Although the condo was very clean and looked as if it has recently been remodeled. It did have some issues that made our stay less than perfect.
The microwave was broken and they told us it would be Friday (6 days later) before it could be repaired. Although they do have high speed internet, it is NOT wireless and the 12" cord you have to use in order to sit at the same time you surf causes safety issues for anyone else in the house as it has to be stretched from the tv to the couch. Also, there was a water leak in the lower level that caused a terrible smell of stagnant water.
We would not stay here in the future. -

My husband and I had come to Florida for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday and were actually looking for a hotel room when we stoped in and were offered "The Mermaid" for the weekend instead. I was shocked when we walked into this beautiful place. It is the most beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath, 3 story townhouse, tastefully decorated with mermaids of course. It was beautiful with large rooms, ceramic tile and wood floors,and two balcony's and a deck overlooking the ocean. Everything that we could have needed was furnished, even a barbaque pit and skim boards. It really was beautiful and even has it's own garage. We were right down the street from shopping, entertainment, resturants, anything you could want, and the best part of course is that we were right on the beach which is what I came to Florida for. There was nothing about "the Mermaid" that I didn't like, I only wish we were able to stay longer. I guess there is always next year and I am planning on staying in the same place for at least a week when I come back. I want to thank the lady at Harmony Vacation Rentals also, she was great and gave us a really good deal. I don't ever want to stay at a hotel again, I am now spoiled. Thanks Harmony.

The Mermaid Beach House had everthing needed to make our 4 day weekend vacation wonderful. We spent our days on the beach, just a few steps away from the house. We played games in the very spacious living room at night. A designer kichen made it easy to have "big" breakfast's every morning. And last if you just wanted that quiet time - the house is so big - you can just retreat to one of the spacious rooms and take that long nap! we will return to the Mermaid House for another trip!!!

My adult daughter and I took my elderly mother on a quick trip to Florida, because she had never seen the ocean before, and did not understand my fascination with it. Although she had a difficult time with the stairs, overall it was a great experience for all three generations of us. The weather didn't cooperate, but we could still sit on the decks and enjoy the view. I would rent this place again in a New York minute.

The property is beautiful and much closer to the beach than the pictures indicate. The pictures also don't do justice the interior of the home. We were/are so impressed. The beach is quiet and private and although we expected noise and partying on New Years Eve, it was fireworks that we could see from our deck and beach and the sounds of waves. The management company was quick to respond to the fact our toaster didn't work (certainly NOT an emergency) and they brought a new one out within an hour of our call. It is also easy for check in/out. We could not have asked for a more perfect New Years.
Thank you for making our vacation exactly what we needed. We will certainly be back!

This was an awesome property, and I am very particular, Clean, well furnished, good mattresses, great location on beach, the veiw of the ocean from the two upper balconies was even better than the pictures, the travel company was Bid Villa they were great, we got a very good winter rate. But this propeerty is worth an extra expense. Stay their if you have the opportunity. We definitley will try to stay again. We had 8 in our family and it was plenty big.

This is one of the best olace my family and I stayed. It is just 40 steps from the beach and has easy access to shopping.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable. It was like home away from home. The vacation home has all the modern convenient to make your stay an enjoyable experience.
