This beautiful property was in a magnificent location with views to match, but within easy driving distance of the nearest town. The property was beautifully furnished and all the fittings were top notch, and the welcome was second to none. We had a wonderful stay and the wallabies kept on the farm were a delight for children to feed. The surrounding area has many places of interest to visit, and going out for walks or staying in and playing games made this property a great spot to stay for so many reasons.

We had a wonderful week staying at Usherwoods barn. It was much larger than we had expected and had been finished and equipped to a high standard. The underfloor heating works very well and it was lovely to sit in front of the log burner in the evening. It isn't often that holiday accommodation exceeds your expectations but this certainly did. The owners were friendly and very helpful and it is in a great location. Pet friendly too. We hope to go back again.

We had a really good holiday at Usherwoods Barn it is really lovely and comfortable the owners were great the views from the garden are to die for and location is stunning.
The only problem that we had is with the twin bedded room it is very comfy but no wardrobe plenty of draws, thought that perhaps a single wardrobe would fit on the landing which is very big, I would return and enjoy the wonderful cooker and large kitchen
brilliant cottage in gorgeous surroundings.

The cottage was very well equipped and tastefully decorated. Excellent views of the countryside. More than home from home. 3 of us stayed and had a settee each to relax each evening after days spent walking and touring the local area. Really nice welcome pack of tea, coffee and milk etc.and very friendly owners. Nothing not to like.

We booked our holiday rental through Sykes Cottages, whom couldn't have been more helpful.
Key arrangements were made directly with the owner, whom again couldn't have been more helpful.
The cottage was beautiful, clean and high spec. Very spacious. Met all our needs and more, restful, comfortable, and close to lots of attractions.
We will certainly be back.

Lovely cottage with excellent facilities and great views. The room configuration worked well for our Family (with couple of grandparents plus 1 dog as well). Plenty to see nearby - we never went more than 30 minutes all week. Lovely walks even from the cottage itself.
Hard to beat!

We spent a very snowbound Christmas at Usherwoods Barn, but I can't think of a more warm, comfortable and well-equipped place to be stranded. The owners were friendly and helpful, the views were spectacular and the location is a perfect jumping off spot for The Dales, Lancashire and Cumbria. I would highly recommend it.

The people who owned the house were a lovely, they greeted us on arrival, showed us how things worked like the cooker etc, because at the last minute we had to take my granson with us who was only 4yrs old, and they maid him so welcome.
The house was beautifull with everything you needed, my granson loved the animals in the garden and surrounding areas.
It was remote and peaceful with lovely scenery yet only a short drive to the village.

A drive through winding country lanes was well rewarded on finding our Sykes Cottage at Usherwoods Barn.
The cottage was very well appointed, warm and inviting especially as we were to have snow in a day or two. The nearby owners were very welcoming and helpful and always available.
There are loads of walks in the area, and as the weather turned snowy, we were glad to find some without using the car.
Overall a lovely holiday in a lovely cottage in a lovely part of the world. Perfection!
