LansingExcellent Location, Great Cottage, Great Town
Left on 02/14/2013 for a stay in July 2012
This is a great cottage for a family with kids of any age. It is located barely a block off the beach, and within easy walking distance of the movie theater, ice cream shop and library. The cottage is well appointed, including a washer and dryer. There is not air conditioning, rarely needed, but there are fans in every bedroom.
The beach is quite and safe enough that you can leave your stuff there for a quick trip back to the cottage for lunch or a nap. For younger kids, the beach closest to the cottage is between the breakwaters so is calm. Just a short walk down the beach gets you past the breakwater and into more waves. Great on windy days for older kids.
My kids love going to town and we have been here enough that I will let them go by themselves. For bikers, there is a paved trail from the cottage to Beulah, about 11 miles. We bike it every year. Sleeping Beard Dunes is close. Alpine Slide at Crystal is great fun. You have to go to the Platte River. If you are lucky to be there over 4th of July they put on a great fireworks show.
Frankfort is just the perfect place for a vacation. -

MorriceSo Close to the Beautiful Frankfort Beach!
Left on 02/13/2013 for a stay in August 2012
We stayed at the lovely house in august and created many family memories. Having the beach a one minute walk away was perfect! We would gather our stuff and leave it at the beach throughout the day and walk back and forth as needed. The Frankfort beach is clean and beautiful. The house was more than enough for our 4-person family. Having three rooms worked out perfectly. The enclosed porch was our favorite place to hang out during the day and the kids liked sleeping there at night. The house is very open with the kitchen, dining room and living room all open to each other. A great place to gather with friends and your family. Having gone on a summer weekend, it was still quiet and the beach wasn't busy.
The house is also a short walk to all of the lovely Frankfort shops and delicious restaurants.
The house was clean and welcoming and the owners were so great with communication. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Our children were 3 that summer and they still talk about it months later! -

KalamazooOur favorite family vacation each year!

The cottage is located in the perfect spot...right on Lake Michigan and also in town. You can walk everywhere you go. I have five children and they look forward to our Frankfort week each and every year. The cottage is kept clean and has plenty of space for all of us, ice cream at a local place each night, and a pizza night is our usual tradition. Otherwise, we eat all meals in the cottage and have enough room to cook, eat, and enjoy. There are also so many things to do around that area if you do choose to leave the beach for the day, such as Sleepy Bear Dunes, tubing down a nearby river, and driving to Point Betsy to see an amazing old lighthouse. I truly cannot express the joy that our whole family gets from a week at Coast Guard Pointe Cottage!!!

FarmingtonGreat location and stay!
Left on 02/12/2013 for a stay in August 2012
W have stayed here for over 10 years each summer and always look forward to coming back. The house is in a great location...essentially on the beach and not a couple blocks from downtown. The house is so cozy, always clean, and is a great spot for our family to stay. There is always enough room to bring our family friends for the week too. We started coming when our children were under the ages of 3 and they now always look forward to coming as teenagers. We highly recommend staying here. And if you have children, this is a great spot. Not only do you have the beach, but a nice yard for them to run around in. Ps...it is the best price for what you can rent in Frankfort.
