This Fredericksburg Texas bed and breakfast was built with a flair of days gone by! Created by your host 2H Rock Haus is exactly that--a rock house like our pioneers would have built it. 2H Rock Haus is a two story home, but only the downstairs is available for guests to use. Located less than 15 miles from town this home is private and comfy.
Before entering the home check out the patio with the outdoor fireplace. A wonderful private retreat planned with only relaxation in mind. If you're looking for a pet-friendly house out of town, this is it. The hosts provided a very comfortable environment and packed the kitchen with all the amenities.

Well appointed lodging. We used the beautiful outdoor fireplace and sat under the stars. The location is a little bit outside town, but the peace and quiet made it worth the drive.
Only thing I would have changed is that they add a door the the master bedroom. It was right off the kitchen, and if others are staying there it can be a lack of privacy.
Lots of games, and an area for gathering to visit or watch TV. We would definitely go back there! -

It was the perfect place for my husband and I and our golden retriever. We spent the day after Christmas through New Year's and explored new parts of the area that we had not seen in the past thirty years. I could have stayed in the huge kitchen the whole time. Sunshine flooding in the french doors and surrounding views of nature make this house hard to surpass. The layout fits two couples perfectly with separated bedrooms and a bathroom on each side of the house. The owners are down the road and supply delicious baked goods.

I have stayed at the Hick's place many times and have done so only because it is a great place for me to get away from my big city. I love the Texas Hill Country and 2H Rock Haus is truly the hill country. Unlike many places that are in small cities in the hill country, 2H Rock Haus is in the country! Still, the location is super convenient to Fredericksburg, Kerrvill, Comfort, the Texas wine country, and Boerne. I will be back soon. J

This was a nice place to stay. So clean and comfortable.
Kids had fun watching tv, running outside, visiting shops.
Nice outdoor fireplace, we should have packed
marshmallows n wood.
Large bathrooms and cute kitchen.
Our dog even had fun, we took a kennel.
Watch out at night, dark roads easy to get a bit
lost.
Would stay again! -

The Host provided eggs/milk/orange jucie/homemade pastry/just a pantry full of various items. Including a visit to offer more wood or eggs if needed. The cottage was
very clean/very nice furniture/bedding/2 large bedrooms/2 large bathrooms/outside fireplace & patio/porch/deck. The country setting was lovely/horse in pasture/lambs down the road. Although in country - good roads/easy to find. Loved
the whole package - want to come back again - hope the Bluebonnets are as pretty! -

We could not have asked for a better place to suit us. We loved being off the beaten path and could use back roads to get to Luckenback and was also within a short distance from Fredericksburg. We absolutely loved our stay!!!

My wife and I run the adams House B&B; in austin and after an extremely busy holiday season we were looking for some time off in the surrounding area. We also wanted to take our 2 dogs with us so we looked for a pet-friendly guest house around Fredericksburg. We decided on the 2H Rock Haus due to the fact that it was secluded and dog-friendly. Plus the outside fireplace was the real icing on the cake.
We had to drive into Fredericksburg to get the key from the Gastehaus Schmidt company; this was easy and quick and before we knew it we were settling in to the 2H Rock Haus.
What a great property - very spacious with modern upgrades. In actuality it was more space than we needed being a couple with 2 dogs but we closed off one side of the house and made ourselves at home. Much to our surprise there were basic supplies in the fridge for breakfast and the owner brought us over a freshly baked loaf of banana bread which we devoured over the next 2 days.
The outside fireplace was our special area to have snacks and drink wine even though it was pretty chilly. We loved the outside space and the dogs loved to stretch out with us on the patio. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and very clean.
This property is about 20-25 minutes outside of Fredericksburg which is another reason we chose it - for the seclusion. It was very quiet and the stars were so beautiful at night; something we do not see very often in the City of austin.
Do yourself a favor - plan a stay at the 2H Rock Haus and you will fall in love with the countryside. -

2H Rock Haus has been like our country home. Exquisite Texas chic, the peace and quiet of the Hill Country, great stargazing and serenity. One of our favorite places on earth.

This was our 3rd stay at 2H Rock Haus. We love it. Private get-a-way in the country, yet close enough to enjoy the great shops, restaurants and sights of Fredricksburg.
The house has everything you need, nothing fancy, but so relaxing. We will definitely go again next year and the next.

We loved this place. It was clean, quiet, and quaint. The frig was stocked with breakfast items including a lovely homemade bread. We had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. It was close enough to town that we could run in when we felt like it. Would have liked to stay longer!

My wife and I run a B&B; in austin so we are very familiar with the lodging and hospitality industry. We were looking for a quite getaway for a few days and had a great stay at the 2H Rock Haus. Upon arrival we found a kitchen stocked with goods such as milk, eggs, water, coffee, and some frozen dinners. A few hours later our host came by to say hello and deliver a homemade baked loaf for breakfast which was a bonus for a vacation rental. The house was clean and there was even more space than we needed. We enjoyed spending time outside on the patio having a glass of wine and sitting by the fire. They even let us bring our two dogs who also had a nice time lounging by the fire. The drive at night can be a bit challenging but we really enjoyed seeing all the wildlife out in the country.
