Built in 1921 this house was a wedding gift to Ruby Stein and Eric Juenke from the bride's parents, owners of Stein Lumber Co. & Builders. Architectural features are typical of the Stein built homes of that era. This large home is great for gatherings of family and friends. Located just a short walk from the heart of Main Street, Abendlied accommodates up to 12guests. Liedchen, the small guesthouse next door, may be reserved together with Abendlied for larger groups.

Great historical house well kept and fun place.

House had a great setup and was clean. Walking distance to main street and plenty of parking. Only complaint is who to call when you have a problem while staying and that house was being painted while we stayed there. I felt the rate should have been discounted for this reason but the management company who you pay stated you need to contact the managers. I am paying the management company not individuals it shouldn't be my responsibility to find who to contact. Overall though I would stay here again.

When we walked in the front door it was evident that no one had cleaned good in a long time. The furniture was dusty where it sat and it felt like a haunted house . If you like good plumbing Dont stay here the water in the tub backed up on your feet while showering and the toilet Wouldnt flush!
The airconditioner Didnt work for the front of the house which made for a lovely time for our family to get together in the living area at night. Other than the house Fredricksburg was a nice place to visit. -

We liked the space. We have spent 3 early Christmas times here and the tree is a nice touch.The location was close enough to main part of town but also far enough away. The space was the main thing. Besides Christmas we also celebrated my 80th birthday with family staying here and friends and other family comng by.
This and Liedchen really great for a large group. -

When we first arrived, I was impressed with the homey feel, but was a little concerned about traffic noise in front. However, by night fall there was almost no traffic, and the furnishings and window coverings made for a very comfortable night. It was a rainy weekend, but the front and back porches were very pleasant places to wile away a rainy afternoon. The hot tub was a nice extra. Would stay there again.

perfect rental for a group of friends or family. There was plenty of room for all to stay in one location instead of being split up by renting several smaller homes. The kitchen had all of the items needed to cook a few meals. And the front porch was perfect for just hanging out and relaxing. Only drawback - it seems that since my first visit, every time I want to rent this property, it is already rented...I guess word is getting around that this is a great place to stay.

What a lovely little home. Plenty of charm and lots of room. The fireplace was a great bonus for the cool November weather. We walked a block to the big holiday scene at the square and wandered the shops in town. And the kitchen, while not "overly equipped" had almost everything we needed to cook most of a Thanksgiving dinner. Beds were very comfy and clean. Area felt safe and cozy.

In the end it was sorted out and the property manager recalled that the table was damaged before we ever got there, but, for two days after returning it was a stressful mess. It was not handled professionally and I will never go back as a result.
Spend a weekend in an old place and owe big money for an "irreplaceable" table. No thanks. These owners should be responsible for the normal wear and tear that comes with use - not try to blame renters.

We all really enjoyed The abendlied in Nov 2011 with family and in The Liedchen with my Husband. The homes were very nice. We just loved the location of being only three blocks from all the shops, restaurants and The Rock Box Theatre.

Mother, two daughters, and 3 spouses stayed here. We had a great time. Went to a peach orchard and picked 27 # of peaches to split up. My mom is almost 91, but it was fun and easy. We used the kitchen a lot. Everything was comfortable and clean. Tried to reserve again for Memoriial weekend but it was already booked. Would love to stay here again. 3 of 4 bedrooms were ginormous! Everyone was happy!

This was a great house, we have stayed at this house for the last two years with my sister and her family and my kids and their children.
