This wonderful Fredericksburg style frame home was built in 1904, and is special both inside and out. A front porch with comfy seating encourages those early morning visits while enjoying coffee and pastries. Enter into a lovely foyer, which leads you to two inviting bedrooms, a comfy living room, spacious dining room and fully equipped kitchen.
Two bedrooms each have queen beds attractively topped with period style bed coverings. There is a bath located between the two bedrooms with tub and shower. A variety of bath products are available for guest’s enjoyment during your stay.

Great ladies retreat. This is a lovely home with multiple outdoor seating areas - patio and porch - that enabled us to enjoy the wonderful October weather while reading or doing needlework. An easy walk to main street shopping. The off-premise hosts were wonderful about coming into town to fix the video connection on the television when our efforts failed. We had an all around relaxing, good time.

Antique Rose had everything we needed for a great long weekend getaway. The house was well appointed without being too frilly, as some Fredericksburg proerties are. Of street parking was a plus, and the price was very reasonable. We'll be back!

The antique Rose is a lovely home inside and outside. It was as comfortable and clean as many others we have stayed at. I am a sucker for porches with rockers.
The antique Rose, being "internet ready" is the reason why we chose this home, this trip to Fredericksburg.
As for my dislike, I would have to say the distance to town. Like a lot of people I love to walk. I was coming thinking I would be walking to town the whole time I was here, but it was way too far. -

As always, we found "our" Antique Rose cottage immaculate, convenient for our purposes, and well-equipped for our needs. The home is truly antique, and charming; but has modern appliances and plenty of cookware and dishes. It's an easy drive to downtown, half a block off the highway (290.) My husband and I, our daughter and her first son, have been coming in the pre-Christmas season since 2007; this December we brought her No. 2 son instead, and he was delighted with the house, too!
We look forward to more happy times at our favorite "getaway" in the future. Gastehaus Schmidt does a great job! -

We wanted to watch some Dvd's and didn't know how to program the player. The gentleman came at 9:00 p.m. and fixed everything up for us. It made the trip.

We always use Gasthause Schmidt for bed and breakfast rentals. The staff is very efficient and friendly. (I also like the gift shop at their rental office). I liked antique Rose very much; it has that great Fredericksburg curb appeal. The location is good, the house has interesting architectual details, the bedrooms were nice and cozy and the eat-in kitchen was big (also has a dining room). We enjoyed the outdoor courtyard sitting area. I wish the outdoor pond/fountain was working. Overall a great place to relax.

The house was clean and very practical, the backyard could be a bit more cozy or inviting. the location of the house makes going places very easy. It is not the best place in Fred that we have stayed but certainly I would do it again
