Primrose is located only two blocks off Main Street in the heart of the downtown area in the Historic District. You are a short walking distance from Fredericksburg's legendary shops along Main Street.
Primrose guests particularly enjoy sitting on the deck overlooking the large backyard and the huge pecan trees, which are home to squirrels. There is a table and chairs on the deck, a grill and plenty of room to entertain.

The Primrose was in a perfect location and served the purpose well. It was very relaxing sitting out on the back deck. My husband and I were travelling with our dear friends that we don't get to see very often. The house was perfect for visiting. However, it could really use a good cleaning! Also, there was a very strange smell in the living room. Sort of like something decaying under the floor. When we arrived on Friday, a business card of a Private Investigator was stuck in the door. We were relaxing the next day and were startled with a banging on the door. We were all in different locations in the house,living room, bedroom, back deck, but all ran to the door to see what the commotion was. It was the Private Investigator looking for someone that supposedly lived there. That gave us all a strange feeling.
Would I rent the house again? Probably but my recommendation is the Primrose should be spruced up a little bit and get the smell out of it and get rid of the pi!! -

I've stayed at the house several times...both with girlfriends and again with my family. It's quaint, well furnished and cozy. Very quiet and convenient to shopping. Plus, it's right around the corner from the best tearoom in town -- The Peachtree!

We've vacationed in Fredricksburg at least once a year for the last several years. We always rent from Gastehaus Schmidt and Primrose is one of our favorite houses. Plenty of room for our nieces and their husbands to join us. Comfortable and cozy. Great location! Highly recommend!

Perfect little home for a girls road trip. Everything about it was great, except that we had a reservation for six girls for three nights and there was a lack of toilet paper... A fairly simple problem to solve really. Other than that, we had a wonderful time and it couldn't be better located to Main Street. We will be visiting and staying here again.

The Primrose house was perfect for our stay because it fit our group size, and was so convenient to the shopping area. From this house, you can walk to main street and you have complete access to all of the eclectic stores and restaurants. The Primrose also had a convenient off-street parking to load and unload, and was convenient to getting on the main roads to access other tourist areas. The back yard was lovely, and we enjoyed our evenings sitting on the porch enjoying the shade and cool breezes.

The keys were ready under the mat. The house was, old but immaculate. It was very comfortable and furnished with all necessary utinsels and household items. It was convenient to other parts of Fredericksburg. We have recommended Gasthaus Schmid to many of our friends. The only thing missing was breakfast.

Lovely for two friends - two bedroom. Very good location, within walking distance to town. Bit of an odd smell perhaps from the past. Had a great time and hope to return.

Since you are renting the whole house, it is quite comfortable and private. It is also close into town making it a 2 minute drive to the shops on Main St. The only downside is the house is on the corner of a major street and there is a lot of traffic noise at night. It wasn't unbearable, but there was some noise. Overall, we liked it.
