Your hostess created this home as a retirement home, and says it was a chance to “retire and go off into the sunset.” Now she and her husband are anxious to share this special home with visitors to Fredericksburg. Memories of days gone by are found throughout the home, and your hosts hope you enjoy what they share with you.

Sunset house is our favorite in Fredericksburg. The homemade breakfast muffins are the best. The livingroom is perfect for our family to watch the Turkey Day Football Game. The little patio is a restful spot for early morning coffee and reading. I love the owners personal touches, and there are not too many decorative items sitting around so you can use the area. Especially in the kitchen. The last houses we rented before finding Sunset House were so cluttered with antique cups, saucers, chickens, ducks and roosters that you couldn't use the space. Sunset house is a perfect blend.
We stay once a year.

My wife and I have spent 18 of our 24 anniversaries in Fredericksburg. On this trip it was a couples weekend with our brother and sister in law's. We had an outstanding time. Home was perfect and had all the amenities of home. The down town shopping and dining is always fun. And Hondo's is a must!

We love this place! It always feels like going home. My Sister and I take my 92 year old Mother to Fredericksburg at least twice a year. She always request the Sunset House, she is very comfortable there and we are too.
The Hospitality is wonderful and the owner thinks of everything to make your stay the best. -

My family loves staying at Sunset House! From the moment we walked in we knew we had found the Perfect B & B! It was immaculate, welcoming, spacious, and there were many Extra homemade goodies in the kitchen! The owner makes you feel like one of her family by all the sweet notes she leaves around the house! We will continue to visit Sunset House, our home away from home!

We stayed at the Sunset House in October of October 2010. There were 5 of us (all ladies) and the place couldn't have been any better! The owner has taken the time to place details of the memorabilia all throughout the home. It was like being in a museum. She was also very generous to leave home-made granola, ingredients and directions for boil in a bag omelets, a bottle of wine and several other items. Would highly recommend this home for anyone wanting to stay in Fredericksburg.

It is easy to stay a week here because it is "home away from home" -- only nicer! The owner's warm personality glows from her collections, her art, her little notes here and there, and of course the kitchen, where various treats await.
Over the years of visiting F/burg, I have slept in all sorts of B&Bs; in town and in the country. This is my favorite! Comfortable layout, several rocking chairs and recliners, all the modern conveniences, WiFi, Texana decor, short drive to all the shopping on Main Street -- adds up to a perfect vacation. -

The owner left homemade breads and things for breakfasts. I would recommend it for anyone except small children. Too many nice things displayed for them to brake. But anyone else would love it.

We have stayed at Sunset House several times over the last five or six years and are never disappointed with the service, location, and most of all a sense of great hospitality. The house is spotlessly clean, bedrooms and baths the most comfortable when compared to others similarly offered to guests.

4 college friends(class of '63) & I stayed at the home pictured and found it to be excellent...I am handicapped so the master bedroom & shower were very conveniently provided with handlebars for me...Homeowner left Home-made muffins & omelet recipe for us...Providing eggs ECT. In the fridge also...Tv, Dvds available as were plenty of towels, closet space was superb...Can not say enough good about it all!
