Description from the manager
This log cabin was built in Kentucky 150 years ago, dismantled and partially erected in Castroville...and finally brought to this location. Step into our Log Cabin and your Pioneer spirits are reignited. Step outside and your in the heart of Fredericksburg.
The original log structure is one room...and used now as a sitting room with leather sofa placed in front of the wood fireplace. The walls are the original log walls with very high ceiling. While you’re inside you feel as though you’re far into the country—step outside and your actually in the heart of the city. The addition to the log cabin is a small modern kitche...Read more

AustinLovely Little Cabin
Left on 06/29/2012 for a stay in March 2012
The cabin was rustic and small.
But had everything we needed.
Don't expect to get much done in the kitchen. It's teeny tiny.
Great location.
One block from main street.
It was available for a Saturday only stay. -

Location is great! Close to everything in town, but you feel like you are in the country. It rained while my wife and I were there for our 23rd anniversary, so the sound on the tin roof was great for sleeping. Reminded me of going to my grandparents back home when I was a kid. We loved sitting on the porch visiting with the cats. Again, like home in Cameron, Texas.
Would stay there again for sure. -

The Town Creek log cabin is a roomy little cottage very close to Fredricksburg's Pacific War museum, German restaraunts and antique shops. This cottage was an 1800's house that was relocated to its present location. To me, it reminded me of my grandparents house in west Texas.

We stayed at the Town Creek Log Cabin for our first trip in Fredericksburg. It was close enough to walk to the main street, but secluded enough to be able to keep to ourselves when we wanted. I would recommend this cabin to everyone. The service with Gastehaus Schmidt was easy and simple. Would absolutely recommend renting from this company.

Left on 06/14/2012 for a stay in April 2012
This is a very compact accommodation except for the living room which is more than ample. The bed is good and the kitchenete facility is adequate for snacks and
light meals, especially take out food. The bathroom is
compact but comfortable to use. When there's no fire in the fireplace, it tends smell of old fires so we but a blanket over it and that stopped the odor. The a/c works very well. We enjoyed our stay. -

Had a great time at the log cabin. Great location just off Main Street, easy walking to several restaurants, music venues, etc. When the weather is nice, it has a pretty lawn and front porch to sit outside and enjoy the peacefulness of the area.

This cabin was extremely clean and comfortable. We felt like we stepped back in time, but had all the modern conveniences. The cabin has all the privacy you need, but is very close to shopping and dining. We walked everywhere we went, and we look forward to staying here again!!

We've stayed at Town Creek Log Cabin three times and all of them have been super. We like that it is off the main road, but only a short walk away from it. The porch faces the back yard and you can hear the creek flowing beside you on the right. When there's good water, the sound of the creek is so pleasant at night. Inside, it's comfortable and easy to get settled in for a weekend. We appreciate the rich feel of the well-preserved hard wood. I believe the structure was brought to Fredericksburg from Kentucky. The low ceilings are intimate and warm in the bedroom. And the window in the bedroom looks out on a small portion of the street side garden. The bed is high and comfy, with plenty of blankets. And there's a fireplace. The proprietor always offers to make sure our stay is comfortable. She does not live on the premises, but we have utilized our phone to request a small item with no inconvenience.
Sitting on the porch - slowing down. Then going to get gourmet cheese and a glass of wine. We love it! -

Extremely clean & nicely decorated cabin! Beautifully landscaped grounds, and conveniently located 2 blocks from Main St and from Hondo's. A small creek runs through the border of the backyard, and there are seating areas on the wooden porch as well as in the spacious backyard.

The Woodlands, TXThe cabin in town.
Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We loved the cabin. It was quiet and lovely. Our only complaint was the mattress on the bed. It was very uncomfortable. Therefore we probably will not book it again. Which is sad because we loved everything else.

This was the perfect little cabin for our weekend getaway. It is small and quaint and just right for a couple. The property is very nice, quiet and gives you a feeling of seclusion. Tt was conveniently located to lots of shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed our experience and will return again (hopefully, soon).

Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We loved waking up each morning and reading our books over a cup of coffee on the quaint porch overlooking the beautiful garden. After the leisurely start to our days, Town Creek Log Cabin was the perfect location for our walk over to Fredericksburg Main St. or a short drive to the local wineries.

Easy check-in. The cabin is lovely and meets all our needs. It's right in town, yet you are away from the traffic and noise. It's very comfortable, romantic and private. Wish it had breakfast coupons and wish it allowed dogs, which it once did.
