Enjoyed our stay at this cabin. High quality. Cabin was simply wonderful, very clean, and beautifully furnished. We were a party of 6, and were very comfortable. Beautiful lakes were very close by. Great place to relax and kick back. Highly recommend, and plan to come back soon. Owners were very nice to work with also. Enjoyed the privacy and woods.

When my friends and I want to get away for a weekend, the Possum Lodge has been perfect for us every time. In the summer we were able to hike, grill outside, and make a campfire. In the winter we can still have our fire in the indoor wood burning fireplace. Nothing beats a wood fire in a log cabin in the winter.
Other cabins we have stayed in expect you to bring everything. The Possum Lodge is always stocked with spices, knives for cooking, linens, etc. The owners go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful time when you stay here!

We wanted a place to get away to during the rush of all our Holiday preparation, and Possum Lodge was the perfect choice. You folks really decorate you cabin for Christmas. Our stay was perfect, from the lovely furnishings, to the Christmas tree, to the cozy fire in the fireplace. Your place is so clean and looks as if every thing is brand new. Very well maintained. Privacy was awesome. We relaxed, enjoyed hiking in your woods, and just getting away from it all. We plan to return. Highly recommend your cabin. You folks were very nice to work with also.

This was a terrific cabin. Plenty of room - truly was more of a log home than a cabin. The local area had plenty for us to see and do. But spent most of our time at the cabin just enjoying it and relaxing. Very nicely furnished. Enjoyed the wood burning fireplace during our stay. We would highly recommend and plan to return. Lots of deer and turkey on the property also. Was fun to watch during our hikes.

Absolutely loved your cabin. Very comfortable. We truly felt like we had escaped, and were able to relax and enjoy everything. If you love nature and hiking, this place is awesome. Stayed at Possum Lodge as part of our gals getaway. It was wonderful. We took advantage of "in cabin massages" and had a great time relaxing and visiting. Pampered ourselves and left totally refreshed. The cabin was beautiful, very clean, and nicely furnished. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Had a great time staying at your cabin. Very impressed with the cleanliness and comfort. Our kids loved the loft in the cabin, and your woods - great trails to hike on. Kitchen was well supplied with everything we could need; pots, pans, etc., plus there was a gas grill outdoors. Loved the Drop Tine Tavern. Spent a lot of time out there eating and just relaxing. Great bird watching. Saw some hikers walking down the road since your road is part of the Buckeye Trail. Have told all our friends about your place.We will be back next year for sure. We recently stayed at Possum Lodge and absolutely enjoyed every moment. We would highly recommend this getaway. Cabin is nice and secluded in rural setting. Very clean and the cabin decor and furnishings were of a high quality. We were very comfortable, with all the amenities and comforts of home. Their private woods and trails were simply beautiful, and it was near two beautiful huge lakes.

My wife and I stayed at Possum Lodge with two friends for a total of two nights. We were visiting the area to attend Jamboree in the Hills, a huge country music festival that seems to be the area's largest annual attraction.
From the first phone call right on through our departure, Nancy was attentive to our needs, helpful with information, and willing to adjust according to changes in our plans. I couldn't have asked for better customer service.
The cabin itself is delightful! It is a charming two-bedroom cabin with a nice sized loft area, living room, dining area, and bathroom. It feels very much like a traditional cabin, but with all the amenities you want (TV, washer/dryer, microwave, etc). The porches on each side are awesome! We used the grill one night (plenty of propane available) and made use of the personalized Cornhole boards too. Next time, my wife and I will stay a few days longer just to relax, enjoy the cabin, and the surrounding area.
A couple small quibbles:
The kitchen is great, but lacks a few items we assumed would be present, like a utility knife for cutting vegetables and vegetable oil. No big deal, and we made due just fine, but something to keep in mind as you plan your meals.
We originally planned to bring a group of eight people and ended up with just four. Nancy was awesome(!) in changing the fees despite the last minute change, but I must say in the end I was glad we didn't have eight. I can see where eight could sleep in the cabin, but it would be pretty cramped. I recommend no more than six adults max.Response from Nancy Slusarczyk - 08/06/2012

Sounds like you didn't find the one drawer in the kitchen to the left of the stove that is for knives only. It is separate from the drawer with the silverware and steak knives in the kitchen island. The knife drawer has just about every knife there is in that drawer including a paring knife, filet knife, vegetable knife, bread knife, as well as a small assortment of other knives. Can't help you with vegetable oil though. That's a food product.

The service we received was outstanding. Nancy made everything very clear from the directions to the cabin to what pontoon boats she felt were nicer than others to rent. She had the bird feeders filled and we were constantly entertained by the hummingbirds. She greeted us warmly. The cabin was furnished perfectly. They provided us with more than we would ever need. Two porches (one in front of house and one in back) provided two distinct gorgeous views. It was a large cabin. There was a lot of land with the cabin to roam around on. Great firepit to roast marshmellows. We loved that we could enjoy this with our dog, which she also welcomed warmly. We will return each year now and have already told our friends about it. Great getaway to refresh the spirit.

Our stay at Possum Lodge far exceeded our expectations. The owners provided accurate and timely vacancy, cost, and related information. They are very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, we found that they had left very detailed information about the opportunities available on their sixty-four acres as well as places of interest in the general area.
The lodge is incredible! It is very clean and neat. The peaceful, back to nature environment was wonderful. Everything you could possibly want is provided; gas grill, pots and pans, big refrigerator, stove, TV, etc. Nice back deck. We felt the great accomodations were well worth the cost. We are not really into the "hunting" theme which is the decor throughout the lodge, but we understand that appeals to many.
We selected Possum Lodge in large part because it allowed us to bring our two dogs. It was a great fun for us all, and it took the dogs two days of almost non-stop sleeping to rebound from all of the activity. They were happy and worn out! -

We were met by the owner, who was prepared with detail explanations of and handouts and information on the cabin and surrounding area.
The Cabin was very attractive both on the inside and outside. The front porch and back deck were huge and and very relaxing places to spend time. We were only there for two nights and spent time hiking on the scenic trails. Although there are nearby lakes we are not into water related activities.
The best feature of the cabin is the details put into the inside of the cabin and the expansive deck area

We have visited Possum Lodge twice in the last few years and we have had a blast both times. The views of the lush landscape, and the cozy yet luxurious cabin made our stay beyond relaxing. On the last trip we invited my aunt and uncle and they are now hooked!!! I'm sure that they will become regulars at the cabin just like we are. If you're looking for a secluded forest feel with all the amenities of home, Possom Lodge is your best choice. We can't wait to got back!! Hopefully we can set something up for this winter!! The service is excellent.The log cabin home is unique,and spacious. The location is great you have a chioce of three lakes boating,fishing,or swiming. if your a hunter you have 64 acers of pathes, tree stands,and wild life...a hunters dream. The only dislike is cell phone service, you have to go away from the cabin to make a call.

The cabin was awesome! The privacy was second to none. The cabin was clean and well maintained. Maps of the property were provided. The full kitchen and bath were nice to have. It really suits all types. They have direct tv for the in doors people and endless activities for the outdoors people.

Just returned from our third vacation at Possum Lodge. We had great fishing at Piedmont Lake. We mostly fished for crappies, but we also caught largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, bluegills, yellow perch, rock bass, and one white bass. Piedmont is noted for big muskies, huge catfish, and good saugeye fishing as well. You can see the state record 55# muskie at the Piedmont Marina. We have also stayed there in the months of October for fall color & hiking, and late april for turkey hunting. Possum Lodge is a great place for families to enjoy nature. You can sit on the back deck and, if you are quiet, see deer, turkeys, songbirds, squirrels, raccoons, groundhogs, and other wildlife. It is quiet and peaceful, with very little traffic. My aging black lab loves to sit outside with us, and he enjoys riding on the pontoon boats when we go fishing. The cabin couldn't be nicer. It has Direct TV and we never have a problem getting a signal with our Verizon phones. If you need to get on the Internet the Piedmont Marina has free wi-fi service and a restaurant. You can rent a fishing boat for $299 a week, or a pontoon for $550/week. We fished from Sunday to Thursday. The fishing was very good every day, and the fishing pressure was very light. The lake has a 9.9 HP limit. The cabin property has good hunting, but there is plenty of public land available within a short drive. We will return to Possum Lodge soon.

We cooked, we hiked, we grilled, we made a campfire and roasted smores, we played games inside and outside, and generally had a fantastically relaxing weekend away. Lots of character and the owners are very accommodating (even when you mistakenly drive away with the key!).

After just a two hour drive (the time it takes me to drive to Columbus)I felt like I was in another state. Check-in was painless and Nancy is very personable and helpful. This is not a rickety cabin in the woods. Granite counter tops, hardwood floors, ceramic tile in the bathroom, central air and heat, not to mention satellite TV! Yet the decor is very rustic and warm, complete with a large stone fireplace sporting a deer head over the mantle.
Visited both lakes during my stay (only takes minutes to get to each one). Hiked a wide trail through the woods. Laid a blanket down on the ground in the open area in front of the cabin at night and watched the stars!
Slept downstairs in one of the two bedrooms, in a very comfortable bed. Did not sleep in the loft, but would not hesitate to do so. The cabin is very clean and well maintained.
I love the covered back porch with a counter top rail overlooking the woods. It is a lovely outdoor room called "The Drop Tine Tavern". They established a feeding area partway down the hill, and from your stool you can have breakfast while watching the wildlife below.
Looking forward to going back again, perhaps with a few more friends. -

I highly recommend this lodge if you are looking to get away from it all. The nearby lakes are great for fishing and if you are a hunter, this would be a great place to come home to after a day of hunting. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be here in the Fall. If you enjoy camp fires, quiet, fishing and hunting, this is the place to be.

A very nice and clean cabin in the woods. Watching the birds and other animals from the back porch,where we ate all of our meals. This cabin is amazing. Everything looks brand new, and it is immaculate. The back bar and seating area is perfect to watch birds while enjoying company. We stayed somewhere else a few weeks later, as this cabin was bookedand we were miserable bc we werent here!!!

My husband and I and our 2 dogs spent 3 wonderful nights in this beautiful cabin on 64 gorgeous acres. The decor is so wonderfully decorated and the attention to details is awesome.we spent many hours on the drop tine tavern (back porch)enjoyed many birds at the feeders and watching the raccoons.We had a great time walking the trails. We have been there now in winter and spring, and both times was so enjoyable. Cant wait to visit again!!

The cabin was clean and comfortable. We were greeted when we arrived with a tour. There were information pamphlets on points of interest along with maps. Near by there is hunting, fishing, shopping and alot of hiking trails. It is also very relaxing. The 7 of us girls had a great time.
