We had a delightful stay at Misty Manor. We loved seeing the wildlife coming right up to the window and we had the priviledge of seeing a white pelican which is very rare. The gated community gave us a keen sense of security,

This is an excellant place to stay and the view is breath taking. If you awaken early enough, you can watch the sunrise every morning while enjoying your coffee.
The home is in great shape and very comfortable. We will be back! -

Great value for large family on a budget, looking to get away together for a couple of days. Few minutes drive to beach and amenities. Older location with inconsistant updates, but comfortable with a great view.

I had the most wonderful time on Fripp Island in this home...please thank the owner for allowing us entry...This house fit all my needs and wants...fantastic view (even when it rained). The screened-in porches on the individual rooms gave each of us the privacy we needed when we needed it. Would have loved to be closer to the beach because finding beach access was a little difficult. I would love to rent this home again...so please keep it available...lol...Thanks to Charissa and Greta for you help...you guys are great!!!

northwest Alabamaterrific quiet location, older house
Left on 10/13/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We had 4 adults, 1 adult child with her 2 yr old, 2 teens and one elementary aged child. We were delighted with the location. At the edge of the marsh where it meets the ocean, we had great views of both. The neighboring houses were visible, but barely, through trees. The beach was a short drive away, and while we didn't rent a golf cart, because of the time of year, we had no trouble with parking for beach access. The house itself was older, with very outdated appliances. The furnishings were adequate, with plenty of beds, seating and dining space for everyone, but not overly comfortable. This trip was about spending time with family, which is why we intentionally chose this quiet area. The beach was great, weather was nice while we were there, warm enough to swim. The house had 2 balconies and 3 porches, one with a hammock. We cooked every meal there for 3 1/2 days, and found enough pots, pans, dishes and silverware for everything. However, at times the age of the appliances presented a challenge. Even the washer and dryer were quite old. There was no broom we could find for all the beach sand, and we found no potholders or dish cloths. We did enjoy our stay very much though. With just a little updating, this house could easily be 4 palms rated. Also, the large flight of stairs to enter the house posed a challenge to the older 2 adults in our group. There was definitely no handicapped access.

Very nice house, needed indoor trash cans, the whole amenity card thing left us probably to look at going to other islands.

First glance at the place, I wasn't impressed. But my daughter and son in law thought it would be the perfect family place for our annual vacation. They were right. The location with the water rolling onto the rocks lapped me to sleep. The morning sunrise with a cup of coffee on the veranda. The deer in the evening! The quietness of the area. Getting out to sight see in and around Beaufort. We are already planning our next vacation there. I may even cancel our Ireland vacation to come to Fripp next year!

Atlanta, GeorgiaGreat quiet location for an older home.

This is a very good location on Fripp Island. It is away from the Beach Club and the popular beaches, so it is quieter than most spots on this popular South Carolina vacation resort island, and it commands very nice ocean view. However, it is not close to a beach, so you will need a golf cart rental, which will cost an additional $250 or so. You should make said golf reservation early because they do sell out in the summer.
The caveat I would offer for this house is that it is minimally maintained by the owner(s), although it is clean and basically functional. When we were there the grill was effectively non-functional and there were some minor problems with the appliances.
That said, none of the problems really detracted from the vacation and we came back late in the year for another rental. I would add that at that time the refrigerator had been replaced. Also, whenever we contacted Seaside Getaways about anything they were very prompt, courteous and helpful.
All in all, for this particular island, it is a good rental for the money based on what other houses command here for a summer rental. -

This home is an excellent vacation home. It is an older home than most on Fripp but is well maintained. It has all the amenities you would expect at home and then some. The service personel were helpful, friendly and very prompt.
The view is breathtaking and overlooks the inlet and the location of the home creates total privacy.
The location is the best thing about this vacation home and the least thing about it is having to leave.
