The house and amenities were nice but the description of the views and the private walk way to the beach were very misleading. The over growth of the foliage/shrubs etc obstructed every view on the main levels, you could see views from the upper level bedrooms. The "private" walkway was over grown as well and flooded with marshy water...making it impassable. The downstairs rooms were "musky" smelling. The golf cart(which is not included in the rental price) had a flat and it took two days to get that fixed.
As you can see from the descriptions on the two websites that rent this home, wording can be very misleading. Yes the house is on the ocean side---but you are not ocean Front---you will have a walk to the beach. And as stated before the views are obstructed views.

We had a week long family get together at this home the week after Christmas 2012 and it was so wonderful. This home offers so much...huge living area, large kitchen, and plenty of beds...which are the 3 main things that you need for a big family gathering. Not to mention ocean front...it's a little walk to the beach but it has beautiful views from the house. Big deck, screen porch, plenty of room for everyone to be together or get away for a little bit of peace and sanity...lol! I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a great get together with family and/or friends. The basement smelled musty but all in all the house is in great shape however not so shiny and new that you are afraid to actually relax and enjoy yourself! We were a family of 4 generations and the house was the perfect size we were not on top of one another and had plenty of room. Loved playing volley ball, ping pong, and sitting around table eating and playing cards. Kitchen had all we needed for cooking. Fripp Island is so relaxing, October beach is wonderful we had the whole beach to ourselves and when you are trying to keep up with children that was wonderful, loved riding around on golf carts looking at all the deer, and alligators it is just beautiful...the only thing that was not as I had hoped was the walk to the ocean I wish you could just walk right out the back door and be on beach or have nicer trail to beach it was alittle difficult with children and my mom but we did find a better route just down the road where we drove our golf cart and walked from there. I guess when you stay in a condo right on beach we have been used to that and that really is the only thing I missed...Thank you...

The service was very good. Southern Comfort was comfortable, the kitchen was not huge but well stocked and having two refrigerators was great. The dining table plus small table & bar stools worked nicely. Having three upstairs bedrooms share a full bath was ackward as was the walk to the beach.

We had plenty of things to do on & off the Island. Weather was good --- on the hot side, but that beats rain. We had all 19 grandkids together for the first time in 5 years so that was special. We had very little problems with the properties but they could both use some TLC. could be cleaner---we realize that they are under constant use and things just that way over time.

The house was ideal for our large group of 11 adults and 9 children. Close to the beach, lots of refrigerator space for all the food that we had for the week and great open spaces both inside and out for us to relax and visit.
We found the one bedroom that did not have walls to the ceiling somewhat hard to understand; anyone using this room had to deal with the fact that they heard all the nosie from the main floor and it was not a good room for sleeping particularly if there were children placed in there.
Kitchen facilities were great and easily accomodated many cooks at the same time. Enjoyed the separate game area on the ground floor with its separate TV and DVD whioch proved useful in dealing with different viewing habits. the volleyball area saw several spirited family matches! Aslo lots of room for vehicles and a good central location for use of the Island's amenities. -

We had a great time at the house, convenient to everything with golf carts and bikes. We didn't end up moving our cars often once we arrived. Wonderful weather...It seemed everything was coming our way. I would rent here again with this group or another.

The house was great! We had a wonderful time walking the beach, playing football on the beach, playing volleyball and relaxing on the deck! The weather for Thanksgiving could of not been better! We really appreciated the volleyball being delivered to our door! It was put to a lot of use!! The walk to the beach was adventurous and fun! We loved the view! We also loved the 3 refrigerators! Everything was great. The only complaints I heard and remember there were 17 of us and there were only 3 which is pretty good. One was my niece said there was not a mattress on the top bunks, the room upstairs that is not closed off gets a lot of noise and was difficult for my brother-in-law and sister to sleep and the air vents really rattled in the front room. It was warm so we were just running the fan to keep the upstairs cool but it was a bit noisy to sleep. It was a great time and hope to return next Thanksgiving!

We loved the house...we had 5 couples with 2 teens and 7 kids under the age of 12...the basement space was great because the kids had their own space and grownups had theirs. Deck was great and we had plenty of seating everywhere for dinners. The beach is a bit of a walk but lucky to have beach as some properties have lost their beach due to erosion. The only drawback to house is it could use another bathroom or so but we managed. Also could use more bath towels. And was great to have 2 laundry rooms and 3 fridges. Great vacation!!

We travelled to Fripp to share a week with my brother and brother-in-law and sister-in-law and everyones families. what a great vacation. We had 8 adults and 7 children ranging from 2-13 years. the house was huge and easily accomodated all of us. Everything we wanted from teh house it provided us. It is a slight hike from the house to the beach but the upside is we did not share the beach with many people. the beach was beautiful, all sand and had a great sand bar a ways out that the kids had a blast searching for conch shells which they were able to observe in their own environment.
I highly recommended this home. -

We had no problems keeping a group of 12 teenagers in high spirits. They did their own shopping, kooked their own meals, and kept the kitchen shipshape - at least after some friendly reminders. It was the perfect getaway from an also beautiful student exchange with aiken High School. Best wishes to the friendly people in the office,

We all loved the house - awesome location right on the beach. We had 9 adults and 9 kids
(under the age of 10) and had a really fabulous experience. We all had great rooms (the master suite is HUGE), could enjoy meals together at the long dining table, the kitchen has all the items you need.
My favorite night was when we grilled and used the volleyball court, blasting music while we hung out on the beachside yard. So much fun! While we stayed the beach path was swamped in. We had to walk a few houses down to an alternate path but it was really no big deal.
Seaside Getaways - especially Sharissa - was extremely helpful each time we spoke.
I would love to stay in this house again for another family vacation. Beautiful and great size for a large family.

The location was fabulous. The house design was very good.. We loved all the porches and great views. The air conditioning was minimal. three of the bedrooms were very warm. The cleanliness was quite iffy. The big surprise was the number of things which were broken or tacky. Could be such a fabulous place. We still had a good time because the weather was wonderful!

The location is hard to beat, and it's one of the few properties that can accommodate up to 20 people.
The owners were gracious, and for the Thanksgiving week we spent in the house, it felt like home.
The decks and rooms are fantastic, the views excellent and the house was well equipped. We did have an issue of the large-screen TV being broken and the bikes were basically unusable. But the place was great for large gatherings, especially the enormous dining room table and open-floor-plan living room. One not great thing was that you can't walk to the beach from the backyard at high or mid tides unless you want to wade. But public access isn't too far, but for an enormous property such as this, for the price, beach access would seem a part of the deal. Overall, my family raved about the place, and I did, too.
