Ice-makers didn't work. Three of the TVs didn't work or were of terrible quality, and the main a/V system had no instructions and took the maintenance person 45min of trial and error to get it working. Porch speakers didn't work, and the porches were a big selling point for this property. Furniture in main living areas was ratty, especially considering the rental price and ratings for this property. No beach chairs (this was explained in advance, but it is still hard to believe that a beach house renting for $6K doesn't provide beach chairs. Also, location is much further from the beach than described, and walking through the dunes to get there is impossible to do barefoot, as there are hundreds of very painful sand burrs along the path. Many of the dishes, pots/pans and silverware felt or looked dirty. We had to wash everything we used in the kitchen, before we used it. Was told that water temp would be ok for swimming, but it was so cold the kids were out of the surf after five minutes and wouldn't venture in the rest of the week. Only one pool on the island was heated and thus bearable for swimming, and that pool's heater broke the first day we were there.

Reidsville, NC2012 Fripp Island Olympic Team
Left on 08/27/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Having visited many NC and SC beaches over the last 65 years, I never met one I did not like. 2011 was my first visit to Fripp Island and it was definitely worth a second visit this year. 11 members of our family, ranging in age from 7 to 74, stayed at Boardwalk. We named ourselves "The 2012 Olympic Team" for together we believed we could conquer the world of kite flying, botche ball, boating, fishing and swimming. The home is lovely with great living space and a superb kitchen. In the evening the top porch drew the senior members of our group and the ping pong table drew the younger crowd. As I recap the week, the vision of watching the ocean from the top porch as the sunset over our shoulder, is what stands out as my fondest memory.

Union Point, GeorgiaOur stay was absolutely perfect.

The house was fantastic. Perfect location on the beach. We were below the crowds associated with the Beach Club, but close enough to walk to the pools if we wanted to. The kids really enjoyed the ping pong table and foos-ball, and commented that it was nice to have something to do at the house if you had too much sun for the day. We were concerned when we arrived that the kitchen was on the top floor, but that was not a problem at all with the elevator. A great house for a large group. We had 18 people from 4 different families, and everyone had plenty of space. We will be back!

The house was perfect! We were a group of 12 family members ages 1.5 - 60 yrs. We all loved the large dining table for dinner and the booth for breakfast. Cooking for this large group was easy with the 2 open prep areas , one for preparing cocktails and the other for food. The large upstairs common area and top porch is where we spent most of our time. We are a group that likes to spend most of our time together but when a little private space was needed it was there. Very clean and comfortable. We will be back ! Our only tiny negative was the distance to the beach when you are lugging stuff and kids back and forth. My 87 year old Mother was to come and did not ...this hike would have been too much for her more than once a day and she is in great shape.

Having owned property on Fripp I knew what to expect. Fripp is Fabulous but for a premium rental some very little things could make a big difference. It is a beach house with no beach chairs - rediculous! I bougght 2 umbrellas and left them as a donation to the house. The kitchen is totally understocked. There is one casserole dish and not one platter for serving. I had to use cookie sheets for serving platters. There is a very limited amount of serving dishes as well. Recommendation to the owner is to go to Tuesday Morning they have great items at cheap prices to easily stock this kitchen once a year. For 6K rental you expect something better than a 1k dollar kitchen.

Great experience dealing with Seaside Getaways. Minor problem was dealt with promptly by Greta Maddox . I have vacationed here before with you and will be back soon ! Great experience for kids and grandkids alike. All agreed that our 1 week stay was at least a week too short. Great home. Well maintained.

The number of bedrooms was good for our family, especially the bunk room which slept 8. The elevator was nice for loading and unloading and also older members of the family. Both great rooms were spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of seating for meals. All around this was a great house for us.

Boardwalk is an excellent home for families of all ages. We loved the convenience and comfort in the home.
The only improvement that I would suggest based on numerous stays in other vacation homes is to organize and upgrade the kitchen utensils and accessories. -

Left on 06/23/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We have a large family of mostly adult children who are married. This house was perfect for us. Every bedroom has it's own bathroom, and with the two living areas and expansive porches, we enjoyed our time together without being on top of each other. The kitchen was perfect with two sinks, dish washers, and refrigerators. We cooked dinner every night and never created clutter. The elevator was a huge convenience for unpacking and packing. We were a little concerned about the distance to the actual beach and the tidal pool located between the house and the beach. It turned out to be the best of both worlds. The tidal pool was only ankle deep, so it was no problem to cross. We walked on the beach every morning, but probably spent more time crabbing in the tidal pool than anything else. It was a ball! The foot shower was very convenient for rinsing away the sand so the house never became sandy. And the enclosed outdoor shower was a big convenience and a lot of fun. The view from the porches was awesome! We had a fabulous time. This is the perfect house for a large family with children! Greta (Seaside Getaways) was very helpful. She made the rental process smooth and pleasant. We will definitely rent from Seaside Getaways again.

Our Family of 3 stayed at "The BoardWalk," but also invited both sets of in-laws for more fun. What can we say: everything was perfect, the floor plan, the furniture, the decor, the amenities of foosball, and ping pong tables and large screen tvs, wireless internet, elevator, the beach location can't be beat, you can take a short walk to the club house for food, drinks, pool, etc. The kitchen is one of the best beach layouts we have seen. We don't have enough space to write all that is great about this place. We would like to rent it for the whole summer. If you want a great vacation your family won't forget book " The Boardwalk."

Fripp Island, SCGreat home for large family reunion!
Left on 09/19/2009 for a stay in June 2009
Our family reunion included 5 couples, 7 children and 1 infant and the house worked perfectly! The bunk bedroom with 8 beds was perfect for all the kids. The location was perfect -- right on the beach and easy walking distance to the Sand Bar, the Olympic Pool and the Food Court. We actually live on Fripp and had compared a number of houses before deciding this was the best one for our family. We cooked most of our meals in the large kitchen and took full advantage of the 2 refrigerators. We would definitely stay there again! The home's elevator stopped working but Seaside Getaways got it repaired promptly -- we had no other problems, even the weather cooperated!

Long Island, NYIdeal for Family Reunion!
Left on 09/18/2009 for a stay in August 2009
The house and the view were absolutely incredible! This was the perfect location for our family reunion. It was great to be literally "beachfront"; it was just so convenient to walk right out to the water, come back in for lunch, and go out again in the afternoon. There was ample space for eating in the kitchen/dining area, and the kitchen island was great to have as a second prep area. The "tiki" room was a dream for the cousins, and we played lots of foosball and even had a ping pong tournament. All of the furnishings and appliances were top-notch. We did have a few things for which we needed to call maintenance, but they were very responsive (came the same day as we called), and everything was fixed. We were extremely satisfied with our experience here, and we would highly recommend this home to others.
