Left on 07/25/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We enjoyed out stay and loved the view, especiallly from the master bedroom. The beds were very comfortable, a real plus. Home has a good layout with a bath for each bedroom. It is close to the Cabana Club (my granddaughter favors those pools) and golf for my husband. It is on a quiet street. The decor was tasteful.
The negatives are the golf cart (comes with the unit) was not clean and the headlights did not work, the grill was on its last legs, and the kitchen is very small (but adequate).
The unit could use a face lift in the kitchen and bathrooms, but the positives outweigh the negatives.

The house was perfect for Peter and me and our family that stayed with us for almost a week. The master suite was very nice. With two small girls the proximity to the Cabana pool was perfect - we walked there every time. The kitchen was well equipped except for a cutting board. Also there was no hair dryer. Only those two things should be added. It was a perfect vacation.

Thank you for letting us stay at your beach rental, we were disapointed with the accomodations.
1. Kitchen was small, outdated and not adequately supplied to cook a meal for 6.
2. Someone had removed the fire alarm outside kitchen. but the one in the entranceway went off everytime you cooked a meal.
3. Sleeping arrangements: Bunk beds to tight to make adequately, Queen: was too Soft, and King in Master: Soft and lumpy.
4. Floors upstairs: although covered with Pergo, are soft and spongy, usually and indication of a floor problem.
5. Golf cart was left with no charge and no insructions on how to charge.
6.Neighbors to our left, had 15 peopole and 2 dogs, building are too close and/or walls to thin.
7. Electronics (Tv's) are old, out of date, and too small considering todays standards.
8. Location: disapointment
This house is obviously a rental property and for the money, I was really disapointed. Paid Top dollar for standard accomodations. I will not rent this property again, suggest the owners update and remodel.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We use this information to better serve you and future guests. We are doing a few things that may help address some of your issues for future guests. We are adding interactive floor plans for each home this fall. This will give guests the opportunity to better visualize the size of each space, along with pictures to determine if rooms are large enough for your needs. I will definitely put a sign up at the house with directions on how to operate and charge the golf cart. That is a great suggestion. We will look at the floors, but I have not noticed the issue you are mentioning and our property manager just spent a week at this house with his family just prior to your visit. His wife said the kitchen is stocked, but we will go take an inventory this week to verify. The owners care very deeply about their home and spend time making improvements on each visit. I will definitely pass along your recommendations.
For future guests, if you want flat screen TV's or a particular size TV, please ask us if the home you are inquiring about has them. -

Easley, SCHouse was good but different things kept it from being great!
Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in August 2011
First off, The house supposedly has room for 3 vehicles. This is an understatement. There is no way to park 3 cars and the homeowners golf cart too. Once arriving, I noticed we didn't have but 1 washcloth & 10 towels. Needless to say we had to wash towels everyday. Also the house came with a golf cart but was unusable once security realized it didn't have any tail lights or brake lights. I really hate all this happened because the house could have been great. Thank goodness for Erik. He was a big help and had washcloths delivered the next day and suggested we park an extra vehicle or two across from the cabana club. Also, the house didn't have a broom that you could sweep with or a dust pan. You know how many times you sweep when dealing with sand everyday.

Renee'
dillsboro, inThe worst we have experienced since going to Fripp!
Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The house definately needs attention. The stove caught on fire do to filthy burner, deck furniture so bad we would not even sit on, dirty dishes and inadequate cleaning tools. We have been going to Fripp for 16 years. My parents had a condo there for 11 yrs and we have rented 5 different houses and this one by far was the worst! The beds squeaked so bad that laying down with my granddaughter to put her asleep I couldn't get back off without waking her! Several light bulbs did not even work and no extras to be found. Smoke detector downstairs by kitchen was disconnected. If u go to the cabana pool every day it is a great location, but to get to the beach in the golf cart (that is very, very slow) took a while. Was not a pleasant experience for us!

Manager
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We take these very seriously. We went out to the house and checked the beds. We also called the current guest and they reported that the beds are fine and are not squeaking. We strive hard to provide clean houses for each guest. If you notice any cleaning problem, we will have someone back out to your house within 2 hours, so do not hesitate to call us.
We advise our homeowners to put in the slower motors on the electric golf carts to ensure the safest travel. Your family's safety is our number one concern. If you want a faster golf cart, then we recommend that you rent one from one of 3 golf cart companies that service Fripp Island.
For future guests, we at Seaside Getaways are here to make your stay enjoyable. So, if there are any light bulbs out or batteries needed, please call us and we will bring them out to you. If you want or need anything during your stay, call us. We have brought guests pack-n-plays, air mattresses, beach chairs, new pots, egg beater. We are here to serve you, just let us know what you need ASAP.

Washington, DC areaGreat place for peace & fun
Left on 07/25/2011 for a stay in July 2011
This property was a great mix of fun for the kids, with the near proximity to the Cabana pool, and peace & tranquility for adults, with the gorgeous views and beach air on the porches outside. You get the romantic walk along the pier just outside the townhouse too, to watch the spectacular sunsets or sunrises if you're an early riser.
If you want immediate access to the beach, you'll be somewhat disappointed as it's not a beach front property per se. But with the golf cart, and island's overall proximity to the beaches, we didn't find this to be a problem.
The house is spacious and perfect for a mixed family -- some adults, some children. People could find their own quiet space within the house, including a great table and TV for the kids in their bunk bed room. A great place for them to play games and watch TV.
All the rooms were clean and spacious. The master bedroom is romantic with the ocean view and its own balcony. Only problem was that the master bath had a slow drain, which made back-to-back showers difficult.
The glass porch doors also stick terribly. We had trouble a couple of times with people locked out because they couldn't open them to get back into the house, including one broken nail below the quick -- ouch!
Be sure to bring cleaning supplies, including a broom and laundry soap for two loads of towels. There was no laundry soap, even though they ask you to do two loads of wash before you leave. And the broom there is so old it doesn't work.
A pretty good deal for a larger family looking for relaxation & fun.

4th July 2011 stay
Cary NCWe loved the island, but the house dissapointed us a bit.
Left on 07/14/2011 for a stay in July 2011
The house is great location for a family as it is close to the Cabana Club and activity center. The house had a rating of 4 Palms, and I believe that was due to the location and great view of the ocean. But the house is sowing some wear. The furniture is older and worn, the flat screen TV in the living room stopped working the second day (Eric replaced it very quickly and with a better model). One of the burner's on the stove did not work. There was dust on the ceiling fans and on some floors. The decor of the house makes it a dust trap. Need new pillows too. There was dog hair on some of the furniture in the children's bedroom. The drain in the master bathroom tub was terrible. The other Tv's were very old models. And slowest golf cart on the island (my 8 year old could bike faster than the cart at top speed). But despite all this, we had a great vacation which is a credit to the island.

We (family of 4) stayed with our friends (family of 4) for a week at Veranda Views--the location was fantastic! We had a lovely view of the water from the back porches and a short walk to the pool and dock. We went to several nearby beaches and the runners in the group had lots of great routes. The house fit our needs very well.
We took day trips to Beaufort and Charleston.
