Allegan. MI.The weather was the biggest disappointment.
Left on 04/18/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Fripp Island was just a bit too "Country Clubbish" for our taste. Having to show our ammenity cards all the time seemed silly to me. The weather was cloudy and rainy for about half the days we were there, so we left for home a day early. For the time and money spent, we should have flown to Mexico.

The views from this house are amazing! The home has a great floor plan that allows for enjoying each others company or retreating for some quiet time. We loved being able to park our bikes and beach gear in the carport. Unfortunately, the closest pathways from the house to the beach were flooded during our stay so we had a long walk to the beach. What this home lacks in polish is made up for with views of what seems like your own private nature preserve.

A very comfortable house in a great location looking out to the beach and ocean. It needs some attention and the internet conection could be improved. The service from Seaside Getaways was excellent.

Very impressed with the service from Seaside Getaways. They took care of the few minor problems in a very professional way. House was very nice and the pool was a real bonus.

The original house we had rented became unavailable at the last moment due to water damage. We were told that we could switch to this house with no additional costs. Not having much choice, we elected to do the change.
Upon arriving we noticed the exterior of the house needed some work. Inside though we saw holes in the walls in the entry way and kitchen, broken alabasters on the stairs, doors to storage areas broken among other items. After unpacking we decided to go to the beach since this is a beachfront home. To get to the beach you must first walk down a pathway after going down stairs from the screened in porch. The "path" was through some grass that contained many thickets and thorns. The path then goes into the bog and was flooded and extremely muddy for parts of it. Then over the wooden bridge that dips into the bog and then back through the grasses and thickets to the beach. Great beach and so fun to walk to the island made when the tide is out. Btw, the screened in porch has many holes in the screens which do not help keep the mosquitoes out and with the bog just outside the back of the house, a screened in porch is a must.
Day two the dryer broke down. With 4 kids under the age of 13 a dryer is a must. Seaside sent someone by later in the day who said we could use a dryer in an un-rented house a few blocks away. We never did use the last two days of trip as a few blocks via golf cart with freshly laundered clothes isn't how we wanted to spend our time so we just laid the clean clothes outside to air dry. Not saying the house was all bad, the two 12 year old boys loved the second living area and claimed in for themselves the entire trip. I did wish the master bedroom windows opened with screens on them to let in the ocean breeze and sounds of the waves. You can't leave the door to the master bed open at night or your room will be loaded with bugs in no time, as we did the first night. Love Fripp, not overly excited about the house we wound up staying atResponse from Seaside Getaways - 09/10/2012

We did have an emergency plumbing leak at the original house and we appreciate our guest being amenable to moving. Since they were staying for only 3 nights, we thought it would be pleasing to them to move them to an oceanfront home (from an oceanview property). We upgraded them at no additional cost to say thank you for being understading of the situation. I guess in the rush of solving the immediate problem we did not explain our tidal beaches on these barrier islands. So, let me explain further here for all future guests. Fripp Island has a varying landscape depending on which part of the island you are staying. On the far north end, called the Ocean Creek area, we have the Fripp inlet meeting the Atlantic Ocean. As the island curves towards the inlet, there is no beach access, but you can hear the ocean waves rushing against the bolders emitting a wonderful song. As the island becomes parallel to the ocean, there is beach at low tide, but the beach is not available to walk at high tide. Steps to the beach provide direct access to the wet sand. Moving south along the island, homes on Marlin Drive, have beach access 24/7. In this area, sand dunes have grown, providing a lovely walk to the beach as you see lots of birds and other wildlife on the trail. Paths are carved out of the fauna, but because of the sand spurs, we would recommend wearing shoes to be most comfortable.
As you move to the south end of the island, the homes are again just steps away from the wet sand. We do recommend that you preview a tide chart for the week you are planning to come to Fripp so that you know what times of day the beach is walkable.
We do apologize that the dryer broke during your 3 night stay. We did get it scheduled for the first available weekday. Thank you for letting us know immediately about the failure so that we could get it scheduled right away. And we are always happy to come up temporary or short term solutions so that if something such as a dryer is needed, we will find you one.
Most of our owners remove screens in the windows during the summer months to protect their air conditioning systems. It requires a lot more work for an a/c unit to work when windows and/or doors are left open. They are designed to work efficiently only when all windows and doors are closed. -

We had a wonderful week on Fripp Island and Seaside Getaways was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The staff at this agency was more pleasent and helpful then any other rental agency I have ever worked with. The home was in a beautiful location on the island and fit our needs very well with a blended family with children. The home is older and truely needs some updating with basic things like paint and cleaning. Alot of the furniture is "well" used and needs some TLC. Great vacation but take your bugspray!

We stayed here for Spring Break this year and really enjoyed our first trip to Fripp. The house was clean and cozy. Everything we needed was there, the beach was beautiful and when we needed a few things fixed they were there on the spot. We would definitely rent this place again.

We traveled to Fripp Island to spend time with my siblings and parents and nine grandchildren. Ten of us stayed in at Panoramic Paradise, while the rest rented another home from SG. Panoramic Paradise was a just what we needed. It was an older home that was comfortable and clean. The kids loved the den with bunkbeds and a pull-out sofa. It was their own space. Every evening we had 17 adults and children eating dinner at the house and had more than enough room for cooking, eating our meals together and playing games. The screened in deck and open-air decks gave great ocean views. The water depth/beach in front of the house was perfect for families with children.
