  This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks.We stayed with our two" 20 something aged" sons, one is a Marine stationed in NC which was why we chose Outer Banks. We stayed @ Carolina Flare week 7/31-8/7/2011 and I have to say it was one of our best vacations ever! What a gorgeous home! We couldn't have asked for a more comfortable, clean, quiet home away from home. The minute we walked in we knew it was going to be a fantastic stay. It smelled so clean and seriously it "sparkled" it was so clean. The house is huge and it sits in a quiet secluded neighborhood off the main highway (RT 12) The bedrooms are all decent sizes and each have their own private full bath. The kitchen and living room/dining room area is so open and full of large windows. It is so bright and beautiful. We loved the 6 person hot tub on the deck after a long day at the beach. The only thing I would have to say is we commented that it would have been a better choice to screen in the hot tub area vs. the master bedroom deck because the misquitoes eat you alive when the sun goes down if you aren't submerged in the water up to your neck. The master bedroom deck didn't have any furniture to sit on anyway so they're really was no point to the screened in area. We loved the fabulous views of the Pamlico Sound and the sunset view was gorgeous. I got up every morning just to see the sunrise from the front loft area it was also gorgeous. Their is ample pots and pans for cooking but not a lot of utensils so I highly recommend bringing your own utensils. We didn't get to try out the kayaks because honestly we were enjoying the beach so much (which by the way is literally a 2 min ride we timed it) so it was almost 7 pm every night by the time we got home. Plus as I said the misquitoes are really unforgiving so you need to spray yourself from head to toe before you venture out . Not complaining by any means we expected it but just thought I'd mention it. The beds are unbelievably comfortable, I wish I would have caught the name on the mattress so I could buy myself one for home. The closet is huge and the master bath is great and also huge. I know their must be other properties down their equally as nice but I got spoiled by this home and I can't imagine how I could find a comparable home in such a great location. I must mention...this is not a beachfront home it is located Soundfront so if you want to be close enough to walk to the beach this is not where you want to be. We drove and that was fine by us because our son has a four wheel drive so we drove it on the beach everyday. What a nice, nice town. So small and the locals are so friendly. We ate at the Frisco Sandwich Co for lunch our first day it was fantastic. We loved the Gingerbread House for donuts one day (awesome) and the Pizza really is Deelicious! We orderded twice from Capt'n Rolo's Raw bar down the street, loved their steamed shrimp and they are too sooo friendly! We did our grocery shopping up in Buxton at Conner's Supermarket. They are extremely helpful too. Oh and I forgot to mention the reviews were right on about Island Perks Bistro down at the Marina, phenomenal!!! We had the best wraps ever and they were so gracious and polite! We cannot wait to go back to Frisco and stay again!
  The only downfall I can think of is checking in to our house. I know that Midgett Realty does not guarantee check in until 6 pm but literally it was 5:55 by the time we got our keys to the house. I said to my husband "this better be worth it" and I laughed afterwards because it was worth it!!!
