Drumcorn Farm has been a working dairy farm since the late 1800s when milk was taken by horse and cart into Londonderry/Derry and sold from door to door. In the present day, the farm consists of 150 acres and 160 milking cows. Dairy farming in a job that requires commitment, its an all day, every day job. Dairy cows have to be milked twice a day, 5:00am in the mirnong and 3:30pm in the afternoon, 365 days a year. As well as commitment, skill and knowledge are required to be a successful dairy farm. knowing when the grass is ready to be cut for silage, planning, investment to improve effeiciency and animal welfare and working with nature each season.
