Ever heard of the Shirley Valentine film? Well that was my mum. Before the film. She is the original.
My mother came on Holiday here in Molyvos, Greece and met a Greek fisherman called Giorgos and married him. They remain happily married to this day. There are happy endings.
I, Melinda am Australian born, moved here with my mum when I was 7 years old and have been here every since. My husband Theo and I have been running a very successful restaurant called The Captain’s Table, here in the harbour of Molyvos since 1994.

For the past several years we have also been renting out our comfortable luxurious houses to visitors in this beautiful village. With lots of experience after working in different situations, we feel that we can offer something unique. I have worked with tourism all my life and feel that what is missing is quality accommodation for people who love Greece and want to experience the real Greek life and stay in self catering houses that are comfortable and affordable.

I am often asked why I chose to live on Lesvos. I didn’t choose Lesvos as it was chosen for me as this is where I was brought up but after lots of travelling I realised that there was something special here and returned. My husband, Theo who is from Piraeus also felt drawn here (or to me).

We have raised 3 children on Lesvos and we think that this is the perfect place to be.
