When we were children we used to spend summers in the west of Ireland and Westport was always my favorite place to go, when I grew up I wanted to live there and "paint pictures". Well I did grow up and manage to get to live there from time to time but with a young family so not much time to paint:>)). The house is over 100 years old and has just been refurbished with child safety in mind It has great character with really beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. It is close to golfing, sailing and horse riding facilities (less than 1.5 miles). Ideal for quiet family break or a romantic get away week end. If you like nature while at the same time need to be close to social activity based pass times then this is the place for you. There are excellent Hotels, restaurants and of course Irish Pubs to enjoy not only Irish cooking but also international foods at their best. The house is available all year round for short term bookings of up to 3 months.

Our family enjoyed a brief stay in the cosy and well appointed cottage with it's beautiful views of Croagh Patrick from the conservatory where we breakfasted.
