Joe and Helene are retired professionals, currently living on their farm with their 2 dogs, one cat and 6 horses. They make hay in June, and live at Playa Lapa 4 months of the year. When not making hay or basking in the tropical sun, Joe works part time, and manages the farm, while Helene manages Playa Lapa rentals and staff. They chose Carate for its remoteness, abundance of wildlife, and lack of development. Casa Playa Lapa was designed by their daughter Julie, to maximize living space, with excellent air flow and great views of the beach and tropical jungle.
Some of the unique benifits that Helene and Joe love about Playa Lapa are excellent fishing; Playa Carate is an important turtle nesting beach; close proximity to Corcovado National Park and the Pejeperrito lagoon; and of course the relaxed tropical lifestyle.
