We are 3 girls and 1 male who live in Kyoto and Shiga!
We really like Kyoto and to be owner of Machiya, Kyoto traditional townhouse, give me the chance to share with guests from all the world the beauty of this city ' s culture. I think if you stay in a traditional house the approach to a different culture is more real and interesting, and the experience is deeper.
Also making the machiya a place where to stay means to preserve the townhouse and its traditional craft sides: the tatami, the sliding doors, the wood parts, etc. and to be spread to others to keep somehow the traditions alive.
