We lived in Antigua during the 1980s and loved it. We have been returning regularly since then and have been looking at property, In 2002 we fell in love with Shell Villa at first sight. It is right on the ocean, with unbelievable views over the undeveloped south of Antigua and across to the neighbouring island of Montserrat - home to an active volcano some 12 miles away. We are far enough away to never feel ill effects but close enough to enjoy the wonderful sunsets it generates. Shell Villa is set in a third of an acre and the garden is one of our joys - allowing us to grow palms and other tropical plants. In our absence the house is looked after by a wonderful team - Helen and Kevin - as well as - Daphne our Dominican maid and 'Juicy' our Antiguan gardener - sometime winner of Antigua farmer of the year.
