We first came to the Keys as name painting artists on Duval St. in 1995. After our second child was born in 1999, we bought this property. It had the perfect combination of ocean view, large garden space and fence for keeping our wandering son from falling in the ocean. Our third child was born in 2001, on US1 at mile marker 5. We go to Chico's Cantina near there to celebrate.
In 2003, my husband started renting out the property so we could work in Vancouver, Canada, near my family. We were developing a product related to name painting, called RainbowBrush markers. After a few years, we gave distribution rights to another company. We moved back to South Florida in 2009 and a year later I took over managing the rental while he manufactured the product overseas.
Currently, our 3 teens help me take care of the property during vacant periods, learning about gardening, repairs, etc. We have fond memories of the place and try to keep it kid-friendly. We have great neighbors and a very helpful caretaker, Kris, who has been with us for 10 years.

Every person in our party had a great time living at the White Ibis Inn. The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated, There were plenty of linen. The kitchen was fully equipped. The next door caretaker and the management quickly responded when we had a question. I recommend the White Ibis Inn to anyone who wants to enjoy the Florida Keys in a quiet leasurely way.
