George and Gerri Chester

We are retired Foreign Service Officers who served in the US Embassy in Guatemala for 6 years in the 90's. We came to love Antigua while spending 2 months there in language school at the start of our tour. It is the world's best way to learn Spanish. We bought our land in Antigua in 1997 and built our home there 4 years ago. We spend lots of time in Antigua, which is only getting better and better. Since Casa Amelia is truly our second home, it is very well outfitted and decorated. We ask that others treat it as there home, also. We provide extensive information about the house and about Antigua to our guests. Our next door neighbor is the house caretaker and is available, and enormously helpful, most all the time. It is her life-long neighborhood. We are sure you will enjoy Antigua and Casa Amelia as much as we do!
