We purchased our Tahoe home in 2003 as a summer get away to escape the Texas heat. It was never our plan to spend winters in Tahoe as we thought it would be too cold. Much to our surprise, winters at the lake are beautiful. After spending much of the first year overseeing a remodel, we decided to make Tahoe our primary home.
Shawn retired from practicing tax law in Texas. I own an internet health and wellness company so it was easy for me to move.
In 2009 we took advantage of the real estate crash to start buying properties at auction. We now own a full service real estate brokerage and property management company based out of Las Vegas. Because we are very familiar with the Tahoe real estate market we partner with a local agent to work with our guests who fall in love with Tahoe enough to make it their home.
We now split our time between Las Vegas and Incline Village. Since the demand of owning a real estate brokerage firm in Las Vegas has kept us away from Tahoe more than we’d like, we opted to open our home to vacationers and allow others to enjoy this magical place.
