I am a retired Civil Engineer and have had vacation property for the last 17 years. I first started on the Internet when there were only 5 million in the US. I thought that was a lot but look at it now. I know travelers are getting wise to the Internet as they can get better prices and nicer places by dealing direct with the owner. I have rented to guest from many different countries and many of the states and have never had a guest that had a bad experience. I think our condo is one of the nicest in Kanaloa at Kona and take great pride in keeping it like new. My wife and I go over every 6 months to check on it and do whatever needs to be done to keep in it top condition. We completed a major remodel in 2008 and everything is like new.
