21 Shoregate has been rented out by the family since April 2009. The father of sisters Susan and Nina is from Fife and our Fife ancestors have been traced back hundeds of years. Susan and her housekeeper Karen both take great pride in the cottage and pull out all the stops to ensure guests feel it is their own seaside home during their stay. Works by various Scottish artists adorn the walls, and as Susan and her husband use the cottage for their own holidays they have ensured that the furnishings, bedding and bed linen are of the highest quality. The kitchen is particularly well-stocked for a holiday cottage, with such extras as a coffee grinder, cafetieres, milk frother, salad spinner, hand blender, baking equipment and microwave. Susan and Karen provide a welcome basket with a few simple groceries, mostly of Scottish origin. Those staying for five nights or more will find coffee, tea, organic milk, organic butter, bread from Crail's own artisanal bakery, delicious Scottish biscuits and jam, cheese straws, and a a bottle of decent wine from Luvians Bottle Shop in St Andrews. There are always fresh flower - when possible from the garden - to add that special touch.
