I have spent the last 32 years in Barbados, and together with my Barbadian wife Petronella, we have always worked in the tourist industry. After running a small hotel for 20 years we decided to open our own restaurants, in which I worked as the head chef and my wife as restaurant manager. In 2008 we retired from the restaurant business and built "Mike's Holiday Apartments" as our "retirement plan".
