Simone Joyaux
My dad was French, my mom American, and I grew up with a deep appreciation of the French way of life. We bought this second home as our getaway, and my husband and I retreat there several times a year to write books and put some distance between us and clients. It's an intriguing old home, fully equipped. Before we bought, we rented houses in France. We've tried to furnish our house the way we like it; lots of reading lamps, for instance. We prefer to sell the region, not the house. The house, though medieval in parts, is a working village house. It's a place to hang out, read, cook, relax, and sleep. It's not a palace or a chateau. The Languedoc region is the real star, a sublime place of many parts. Enjoy exploring!
