The owners of the house are closely involved with the Truckee Historical society and run an elegant house and promises every guest a unique experience. In addition, a portion of every stay goes back into the community by donating proceeds the historical society, Trails & Vistas, the Truckee Donner Land Trust and other local organizations including youth sporting teams.

Our hard-to-please group ranged from a 2-year-old to an 85-year-old. The Richardson House delighted everyone -- the 9-year-old twins, the architectural fiend grandma, the grandpa with restricted mobility, even the toddler sledding down the stairs on his belly (don't worry, we kept an eye on him).
