At the southern tip of Hilton Head Island is South Beach. With a broad beach, tennis, bike trails, marina, and restaurants, South Beach is a great place to enjoy Hilton Head Island. Further up Caliboque Sound the famous Harbour Town Light House marks the entrance to large marina surrounded by quaint shops, restaurants and villas. Overlooking the boats entering the harbour is the 18th hole of the famed Harbout Town Golf Links. The world-class golf course is one of three courses that wind around Sea Pines. Forest Beach. This popular area is at the southern end of the island where you will not tire of finding fun and entertaining activities. This non-gated community features white sandy beaches, leisure trails, shopping, dining, and nightly entertainment at Coligny Plaza. Coligny Plaza offers dining, shopping and a taste of the Hilton Head Island lifestyle all in one place. You can also enjoy the miniature gold and other activities at the Waterfun Park, and tennis at the Van der Meer Tennis Center. With most activities and entertainment within walking distance, this is a great area for families. Shipyard. This private plantation is located between Palmetto Dunes and Sea Pines Plantations of Hilton Head Island. This lovely area is teeming with wildlife and beautiful leisure paths. Go fishing in one of the many lagoons, take a bike ride and enjoy the natural scenery, or just enjoy the beach! This community also offers the Van der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club, a challenging PGA rated, 27-hole golf course Palmetto Dunes. Set on three miles of white sandy beaches. SHELTER COVE HARBOR - with convenient bicycle paths, tour Palmetto Dunes and Shelter Cove Marina, Hilton Head Island. Folly Field is north Hilton Head Island area has some of the most scenic and secluded beaches on Hilton Head Island. This area is also the closest resort area to the growing off island shopping outlets and golf courses.
