While looking for a "home away from home" in Portland, I fell in love with the Hawthorne area-the lovely craftsman style homes,tree-lined streets and proximity to absolutely everything in Portland. I could walk to downtown and the Saturday market or hop on the bus and be at Powell's bookstore, OMSI, Convention Center or train station in less than 30 minutes. Some of Portland's best restaurants are within a few blocks. There is something special about the Cecilia. From the time you open the front door and see the lovely leaded glass window at the top of the stairs, enter through french doors into the foyer, then into the light-filled dining room, you feel at home. You can head to the porch, collapse into one of the adirondack chairs and plan your Portland time. Guests fall in love with the Cecilia. In the short time that I have owned the Cecilia I have been blessed to have guests who are truly the "cream of the crop".
