Jim Peyton was born and raised in La Jolla, and his family included one of the area's first doctors. He is the author of four books on Mexican food, history, and culture, and many magazine articles. He also works as a restaurant consultant, specializing in international projects. He has a B.A. in political science from Trinity University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. The vacation rental is Jim's long time home, where he and his wife spend several months each year.
