I had been dreaming about owning a home on St John for 20 years, ever since I first visited with my daughter. Over the years I searched and searched for a place and finally this land became available and I built my own home. I hope you will find my home a peaceful retreat that is as restorative for you as it is for me. My plans are to semi retire here on St. John some day. I loved the location of the property -- close to town and in the cool forested area of St. John. It was a perfect combination. Five years after purchasing the land the building of my home began. I spent two years researching builders and found a wonderful one, John Fitzgerald (Fitz, as we all know him). Building on an island is quite an adventure, one is letting go of expectation and desire as there is a limit as to choices, and at the end I created a fabulous peaceful little house that I am glad to call my home. I purposefully did not add all the "luxuries" wi-fi, full cable tv, etc., as I wanted to have this place be a respite from the daily hustle bustle of the world, a place to simply be and experience and enjoy nature, and fully relax (be unplugged).
