As a young child, my parents brought us to Mt Desert as my grandmother was a Somes. I have always been in love with the island and wanted to capture its magic. I have a masters in Art History and Museum work and worked in the Smithsonian before raising three children. I began painting in oil in 2000. I have always been in love with the quality of light in Maine. I paint on the island in the summer.
