Ann DiBerardinis
My husband and I strayed into Mazanillo in 1989 and fell in love with the place. The exquisite, pristine natural setting of sea, beach, mountains and rainforest left us in awe. The final factor determining our decision to make a home there was the friendliness of the local people. We bought a small piece of land off the beach and began building our house two years later. The Coral Reef House has been open to family, friends and others to have the same magical experience we have had. We live in Bozeman, MT and travel to Costa Rica twice a year. We have wanted to "give back" to the community of Manzanillo. Over the past years we helped establish a local non-profit Talamanca Dolphin Foundation, and trained local fishermen to be responsible Dolphin-Watching Guides and taught many of the same fishermen to be responsible Saltwater Fly Fishing Guides for Tarpon. These new activities and jobs have greatly contributed to the local ecomomy. We invite you to come and share this adventure.
