Cliff Cottage Inn

Cliff Cottage Inn is owned and operated by the same innkeeper since 1992 when she arrived in Eureka Springs, Arkansas after spending 7 years sailing her 35-foot sailboat alone in the Pacific. "When I found myself doodling designs of homes in my logbook out there on the High Seas, I realized I was homesick for land and that it was time to end the long voyage," says the innkeeper. She designed one of her inn buildings while sailing near the Easter Islands and created it specifically to be a B&B (The Place Next Door) and even did a lot of the construction herself! Sandra is not new to innkeeping -- she opened the very first B&B in Center City Philadelphia in the 1970s and then did Bed & Berth on her sailboat at Pier 39 in San Francisco for a year. Her new husband Carl is a city boy from St. Louis and he is quickly learning the landlubber ropes of helping run an inn. He loves the gardening and thoroughly enjoys greeting the guests! He, too, has had a colorful life and loves to travel.
