Kapoho is the bomb! Of all the places that tug my heart, this is the most wonderful. The breezes sing soft songs here as they come off the Pacific. The ocean is warm and caressing here. I grew up swimming in the ocean inlet that can be viewed from my patio. This island is a place of superlatives:
Mauna Kea and astronomy nights, Kilauea and the "island builder" lava flows. This part of the island is filled with the lore of Spanish galleons landing centuries before Captain Cook, of heiaus (Hawaiian temples) built to resemble the ruins of the Inca, of warm swimming spots now taken by Madame Pele (Hawaiian fire goddess). Come to Kapoho and feel the "mana" (spiritual power) of this place.
