I am a passionate animal rights activist. I helped start a unique program at the local prison for women called "A New Leash on Life". Inmates, paired with shelter dogs teach the dogs obedience training and then are adopted by a local family. I worked for eighteen months to help achieve a new city ordinance so people can raise city chickens. I also participate in rescuing hens and roosters and volunteer for a local Transition Town chapter s (Asheville was 88th in the country) and teach Chicken 101 classes.
I have travel in my blood. I was born in Chateauroux, France. I learned to speak German when I lived there as a small girl. Central America, Mexico, Caribbean are places I've been on numerous occasions. Some of my favorites places include, Lagos de Atitlan, Uxmal, Merida, San Cristobal, Antigua, Ambergris Caye, Chichicastengo, Amsterdam, Vancouver, Cologne.

Just came back from a wonderful stay in asheville. This little apartment was perfect for our needs. Walking distance to town, about 1 mile, and in a nice quiet neighborhood. The apartment was clean and the kitchen equipped with everything we needed. Cathy is a perfect host, and her "girls" were fun to watch while sitting in the backyard.
