Michael and Seza Eccles from Hideaways In Hay
We moved to Hay-on-Wye in 1999, purchased these properties in 2002 and completed them in 2006. The buildings were in a dreadful state. It took over eighteen months of planning, designing, specifying, applying for grants, going to tender and eventually choosing our builder, before we could begin. It then took three years to complete the project.
In 2005 Wil Hughes, the Brecon Beacons National Parks Listed Buildings Officer entered us for one of the coveted National Park Design and Conservation Awards, which we won.
Nick Davies, an officer from CADW (Wales English Heritage) said: "This complex of medieval, Tudor, Jacobean, Georgian & Victorian buildings has been beautifully repaired, restored, and renovated with unparalleled attention to detail."
We have created an historic, romantic, magical and theatrical environment - which is our home - and we wish to be able to share it with you. Find out more, visit "About Us" on our website.
