I am an American artist living with my Mexican family in Teotihuacan. People often ask me about the name of our property, Casa Tonantzin. Tonantzin means "Revered Mother" in nahuatl, the indigenous language of the region, and many refer to the Virgin of Guadalupe as "Tonantzin," since the Divine Mother was known by this name long before the Spanish arrived. We have a special love for our Mother and owe the creation of this home to her, so we didn't hesitate when deciding the name we wanted this house to have. You can learn more about our story and the family's history of hosting spiritual retreats and journeys by visiting www.thedreaminghousemx.com. The painting in the living room of the house is one of my creations in honor of Guadalupe.
