The villa has an interesting history that dates back to 1864, when the property was first established as a working coconut plantation. Some of the coconut trees on the property are more than one hundred years old.
The style and features of Templeberg Villa are typical of an old dutch merchant house and it is a classic example of a colonial manor home that has been lovingly restored and updated by a German expatriate family.
The villa has been privately owned for the most part of the 20th century.
One of our key features is the exclusive opportunity to see first hand how coconuts are plucked and graded for sale at local markets. We also can arrange many other activities (art, sport, bird watching, relaxation, health and beauty or adventure).
2012 is the first time the villa has been open as a resort and we look forward to welcoming you to Sri Lanka.

Together with a group of friends (ages 15 to 55) I had the pleasure to stay in this reasonably priced location, which offers colonial charm past it's prime in relaxing tranquility away from the Galle touristic hotspots. We had the whole house for our group, with owners, staff and kitchen doing really all they could to meet everybodys (sometimes special) needs.
