I was raised in Virginia, Florida, Maryland and DC during the 50s and 60s. When we were not living in Florida, we still visited annually for vacation and visiting family (Sarasota and Fort Pierce). Trips to Florida were always the highlight of the year. We started visiting Captiva annually (just after the bridge was built in the mid-60s). However, when Captiva started getting built up, our Mother switched to Boca Grande in the mid-70s, staying at the Gasparilla Inn at first - later buying a 1911 cottage in the historic district. For me, moving back to Florida on a full-time basis has been a dream come true, being a time of renewal and an opportunity to rediscover all of those things I loved about the Gulf coast as a child.

The interior decor is … See more
