Well, Puerto de Ortigosa is how Mazatlan was named before it receive the formal name of Mazatlan, during the 1800's by a honor to Don Vicente Ortigosa, who was who brought to Mazatlan all the benefits to be the most important port of Mexico at that time, he made Mazatlan, the high port of the country, which means that Mazatlan was the port that received all the big vessels from France, Spain, China, USA. Japan, Germany, etc... were installed big colonies from those country who really made Mazatlan grow because all these Europeans groups belong big industries as the beer factory that now is the most important into Mexico and export to several countries, being one of the most popular Latin beer knowed around the wold.
