My partner and I moved to Vieques in 2005 from Provincetown, Ma., where we owned and operated the Martin House Restaurant for 16 years.(Coming here was a zany idea but we have no regrets! Read Herman Wouk's "Don't Stop The Carnival" and you'll know what I mean.) We bought the land upon which we live in 1994 and after hiring John Hix to design the buildings, began construction in 2006.We are on the eastern slope of Monte Santo and are surrounded by hundreds of acres of grazing land that is leased to farmers by the government. In addition to Villa Venti we have Aguacate Catering and offer guests the opportunity to enjoy meals ensuite or poolside. We also do a prixe fixe dinner every Thursday night at another spectacular Hix designed Villa.
